I just received a bike fairing part from the UK for $18 Cdn air postage but it was for the wrong side of the bike and I sent it back. Would you believe it cost 3 1/2 times more ($75) to send it back by air ??!!!! :eek1
True story A few years ago I sold an Ohlins shock on eBay to a chap in London (UK). On Friday morning I drop it off at Canada Post. Sat afternoon he emails me saying the shock had arrived:eek1 :eek1 :eek1 Yepp, next day service overseas, even with the time difference. DW
I bought a whole KLR body kit including a gas tank a few years ago and dude mailed it from Ohio...US postage on the side was @$30 to Canada. I sold off all my old plastics individually on eBay for more than I paid for the body kit, but I lost my shirt on the postage, because I charged @ $10 each item for postage and couldn't get it done on most items for less than $20. All told, I took in @ $400, but paid out @ $200 for postage. Learned my lesson. But even if you shop around, the couriers are just as expensive. The other thing to consider is it is cheaper to ship parcel post via Canada Post to US addresses than it is to ship within Canada. Especially for bigger items.
