Rox Risers on 05 gs1200 and cable issues

I want to rotate my front brake line more in parallel with my handbars so it doesn't bind when i turn the handlebars with my rox risers installed. What i wanted to know is it possible to loosen the banjo bolt at the bottom of the brake line as it exits the reservoir without having to bleed the brake line? I was hoping you could crack open the nut just enough to rotate the line and then tighten it back up without introducing air into the line. Might spill a little brake fluid but thats no big deal.

Any thoughts?

Drop the fork tube and move the line behind the fork tube. No need to loosen the brake line.

Oya, and let me say that it sounds like a big deal but it's so simple, I can't believe I even worried about it.
It's not a shock, just a sliding tube that you can slide with your hand.

will do jim, what about the cable kinking behind the fork tube? and do you know the torque setting for the tube bolt or nut?

Agree. Done this twice. The torque is until it is tight without stripping... I know I'm about to get skewered for that comment but it is what I have done.

Torque it to one grunt

It really will not kink, a non-issue.

Torque is 40NM according to ReProm.

ok i moved the line behind the fork tube (super easy i might add) but now it seems as though it has even more pressure on the line as opposed to when the bars are in the straight ahead position. remember folks that its a 05 and i think its very different than later year bikes and possibly adv versions as well. I would post a picture but i dont yet know how.

My first bike, and I was the first to use ROX Risers, was an 05. I have installed them on at least a dozen bikes since, no issues. Don't sweat it.

By the way, I have risers now that are even more extreme on my new to me 05GS.

You weren't kidding, those are some badass risers. Ok I will ride it like I stole it and see what happens I guess it should be fine. If not I will fix it when it breaks. Sh$t happens right?

Wait, that's not the kink you were referring to.....



Also, I have Rox Risers on my '05 and did the fork drop. No tribble at all. Although it did freak me out at first cuz I wasn't holding the tube when I loosened the nut. That initial drop had my gut jumping into my throat when the whole bike shifted.
