Soggy ride over the weekend, got stuck a dozen times, lost, mechanical problems, destroyed a strap, good times!
Ok, but that's the Quadratec Exclusive ARB Bull Bar and not the regular ARB right? I've been thinking about getting one but I'm not sure I like how they look on YJ's. Or at least their YJ. The ARB one is $$$ at $865. Even at $499, for the Exclusive, it's a lot. ARB Bull Bar Quadratec Exclusive ARB Bull Bar
I hit a deer with an ARB bull bar. Broke the lens of the hazard light, but nothing else. Had a LOT of fur on the bar above the hazard light, though, so I think there's a chance there might have been body damage to the fender had I NOT had that bar (and the "exclusive" doesn't). Otherwise? That "exclusive" bumper looks pretty good to me. Not going to be quite as strong if you "drop" the corner of that bumper on a rock, but if you don't do that much big rock crawling, that's not a big deal. I do like the idea of lower weight if it's not weight you need... --Donnie
I just picked up 95 YJ Wrangler I4 with 5 speed and limited slip rear. Spent most of Sunday in the woods with my wife and dog having a great time prowling around. Very capable little unit.
No, I am having an intermittent problem with the ESP/ABS system that I can't quite pin down yet, so it's off of trail duty till I get that fixed.
I hit a deer on on Wed in my TJ. Doing about 65mph and hit on the right half of my Smitty built bumper. Not a mark except for the fur and fat.
I have been contemplating the Edge systems Trail Jammer intake system for some time now of my 05 LJ and I was wondering If anyone has had direct experience with this product? I realize that my mileage probably wont get any better and most likely will go down albeit slight but what kind of power increase can I expect? My LJ isnt a daily driver most of the year so a marginal decrease in fuel economy isnt a concern but I would like better performance especially at altitude on some of the passes around here.
My current front bumper is clipped so it only extends a minimal amount past the frame. It maybe adds 1/2-1/4" to the overhang which I really like. Deer wouldn't be a problem with the height of the Jeep and the winch up front though. I go back and forth with wanting the ARB even though I don't really need it. I like the streamline look of the bumper though. I used to have a big and I mean big bull bar back in the 90's. I didn't like the weight and the overhang which is why I modified the stock bumper.
After going to the gun range at Frozen Camp we took the Camel Light road home.... It had thawed------
Smittybilt winch bit the dust today. Got stuck in the ct snow, pulled out the cable and nothing but clicks when I hit the button. Get what ya pay for I guess. I'm gonna take it apart this week and see if I can find the issue.
I bought my '99 Cherokee brand new. It's been good to me. Only a couple simple issues in the last 15 years and 238,000 miles, but it was time for her to go Traded her in on a 2013 4 door Unlimited This is now my 4th Jeep.
