To me it is actually easier to get the kickstand down with it in the new location than the original. It is a much more normal location for the kickstand to be.

I've had one of the prototype brackets on my bike for a while now and got used to it in the new location. Then when I had to remove it to send to the powder coater, I put the kickstand back in the original location. I immediately found that the footpeg got in the way of finding the tab.

I'm looking forward to putting it back in the new location when I get the brackets back later this week.

When I first purchased this bike I use to step up on the peg when mounting the bike (this was before I knew better). I'm just curious, do you think your new bracket will be strong enough to handle this? I know this is a stupid question but It was just much easier getting on bike like a horse, especially with stuff strapped to the seat :D .

Just got this message from the fab shop:

"The coater says we should have brackets back by Friday."

Just talked to the fab shop and everything is still on schedule. Brackets should be back from the powder coater on Friday. Then they will need to do final inspection, clean-up and packaging so that will take another couple days.

Only issue now is that all the brackets on this first order are accounted for, thank you all for that. So unfortunately, anybody contacting me after today will need to wait for the next batch.

I plan to order another run as soon as the first one is delivered so it will be another 4-6 weeks, sorry for the inconvenience.

Thanks in advance for following through on this tedious project, from design synthesis to fabrication, quality control, and delivery!

They came back from the powder coater late today. I'm going to the fab shop tomorrow morning on the way to work. He wants my kickstand to verify everything for the QC inspection.

He also needs to run a tap through all the tapped holes to clean-out the powder.

I'm picking up the new bolts that will be included in the morning also.

A couple more days and I'll be shipping them out.

They are in the process of cleaning the powder out of the tapped holes and doing final inspection. I was told that I can pick them up Friday afternoon.

I will contact you as soon as I have them in my hands ready for shipment.

I am also in the process of creating installation instructions that will be included with the bracket and new mounting hardware.
