Could anyone say a Daytripper is more comfortable than a Lepara Bare Bones ?

    I wouldn't.

If you wan a comfortable seat spend just a little more and have one made for YOU. Box seats are.... Well... Box seats.

Dakez has a good point about box seats; I'm lucky though, Ive got a skinny vibration proof ass and I don't weigh much so most anything that's as wide as my ass is good enough for me. I am going to bring my sportster to bitchn stichn in Lakewood so they can build it up and move me back a couple of inches. They and many other outfits can rework your foam so it fits your butt..

I had a bare bones on an 04 883. The seat looked great. I m not kidding when I say I could not ride that bike more than 5 - 10 miles without my ass hurting. I returned it and bought a Mustang for about 200 bucks. Could not have been happier with it. Did a 1000 mile round the lake ride no problems. I am about 210 pounds on a good day. Get the Mustang you wont be dissapointed.

My box Mustang seat has been great on my Dyna. Not the Daytripper though. After a two hour ride on a nice looking seat, I called Mustang and asked them to send me the ugliest seat they made. It has been super comfortable.

The best I have found to date for the 48 (outside of having one custom made) is the Danny Gray seats.

I also like the Spring seat from HD.

Nice looking Sportster. I had a 2006 XL883 I bought used, and it came with the Sundowner seat like you have. I always thought the Sundowner looked out of place on a Sportster. I ended up trading for the seat from a Custom model, and it fit right on. It did leave a little gap between the seat and tank (due to the 2004-2006 Customs having the larger 4.5 gallon tank), but it looked fine to me and seemed to look much better ....to me.

Yea, it does look out of place. I'll probably hold on to it. Trying to decide to get a stock seat or a Mustang Daytripper for short trips. Those are Dyna shocks, much better than the stockers.

My Mustang Wide Touring seat was ugly as all get out. However, my ass didn't seem to care, and neither did the ex's ass. :lol3

My '07 883C on an overnighter back in September. Touring mods include Road King shocks, Leatherlyke side bags, Lick's solo bag, Fox Creek sissy bar bag on H-D luggage rack, Rapid Transit tank bag, Slipstreamer windshield, 12" Mustang Vintage Solo seat, Sportster Low bars, 7" headlight, Ironhead front fender. Thinking seriously of upgunning to an NRHS 1250 kit soon.

    ^ ^ ^ That is bad-ass! ^ ^ ^

I'm picking up a Go Sportster (as opposed to a Show Sportster!) this Saturday! :freaky My first Harley, in 32 years and 22 bikes!

It's a 2007 Roadster 1200 with only 2,900 miles. This thing actually turns, handles, and stops like a real motorcycle! Not crazy about the seat, and the PO is reinstalling the stock pipes before I pick it up.
