Recently, Wpbralow offered up a multi-tag game for Greater Flugistan ( http://advrider.com/forums/showthread.php?t=743407&page=9 ). Thank you WP. I think this is a great idea, but his game has to many silly ass rules. That said I am offering up a multi-tag, using his idea as a baseline. I'm going to post a list of 5 items/things that you need to photo "collect" with your bike in the picture NOTE - the requirement for a file photo prevention item was removed as it it proved to be unneeded and silly. The "winner" is the first person to make a post with all 5 items in it. All photos must be posted at the same time, not just as you get the items. A single post is preferred, but up to five separate posts are fine, provided they are all posted within 15 minutes or so. If you get bruced, post up but specify BRUCED in the posting. Since this is a global game, the general guideline should be things that everyone has a reasonable chance of getting. For example; if you wanted to use a shoreline/beach, it should be a lake or ocean shoreline/beach; not just an ocean shoreline/beach. File photos are discouraged, but I figure if anyone is anal enough to predate or doctor shots just to make a grab they can have it because it is probably all they have in life. Needless to say, the person who wins is excluded from participating in the challenge he/she puts up. Also, the list poster need only post the list, not pics of the items. KEEP DISTANCES IN MIND. DO NOT SET A TAG LIST THAT WILL REQUIRE LONG RIDES (OVER 200 MILES) TO GET TAGS. EXAMPLE - 5 STATE CAPITOLS OR AIRPORTS IN 5 STATES. KEEP IT DOABLE IN ONE ENJOYABLE DAY RIDE. OK, here is your first list. 1 - An airport control tower 2 - A building with a mural on it 3 - A national / state park visitors center 4 - A small, independant, non-franchise coffe shop with free WIFI - must include pic of free WIFI notice. 5 - A radio control flying field or RC race track. Sign needed if it is not obviously an Rc specific area. <!-- / message --><!-- sig -->
I have been watching the multi tag to see if it was going to take off... Guess so.. Thanks for starting
Question: are file tags allowed? Obviously the prevention pic is to prevent a complete file set and I'm going to assume not, but it's not specified.
From my understanding of how the game is played in Flugistan , file tags are not allowed. Each tag photo has to have the indicator on it. Who ever wins the multi tag gets to name the next 5 objects and the new indicator. So it would about make it impossible to use file photos. In this first set you have to have a cap on your seat in all 5 photos. If you get the multi tag then you have, say, your helmet on your tank or your gloves. Something different each time to prevent file photos. Sorry O2 if I jumped in.
Oh, okay, I thought the file prevention pic was just a separate pic from the rest. That makes much more sense. Thanks! I had several of those as file pics. Looks like I need to map out a route!
Alright - a tag game that doesn't necessarily favor smartphone posting! #1 - RDU Airport Control Tower #2 - Mural #3 - Umstead State Park Visitors Center #4 - Independent Coffee shop w/wifi #4a - wifi evidence #5 - RC Park #5a - close up of sign at entrance New round to follow in a minute.
Items for list #2 1 - A campground 2 - Railroad tracks 3 - An independent bakery 4 - Either on or under a bridge 5 - A pay phone File photo prevention item - your glove on your mirror
Maybe WB will accept a place where one obviously has been. Just yesterday, I passed the housing on a building where a payphone used to be.
Haven't seen one in a LONG time, but saw two today. One was in the state park I got the visitor's center at. Can't remember where the other was. And, yes, certainly. I'll even go for a real, paper phone book in it's place. To clairfy: I like to see the game moving quickly. Pay phones are rare critters. I'll gladly accept a reasonable substitute - former pay phone location, landline phone provider truck, yellow pages, yellow pages ad, etc. Get creative.
It originated a long time ago, but as I understand it, there was a Bruce that kept beating people to the tags. As such, if some gets it while you are out getting it, you have been bruced.
Nah. It's a good set of clues. Takes time is all, and more planning than I'm putting into riding at the moment. Looking forward to playing when the the stars align.
When they're my clues, creativity counts. I like to see the games keep moving rather than try to see how difficult they can be. If I was in Hastings, NZ, for instance, I think I'd probably look at Pakowhai Country Park. Or what appear either of the large parks to your west, if I were out that way...
GRAB 1 - A campground 2 - Railroad tracks 3 - An independent bakery 4 - Either on or under a bridge 5 - A pay phone
