Hello. I am on my way down with the Canadian crew and today the starter on my 1985 R80 G/S died. We are able to push it and get it going so we will continue down. And we have checked the relay and wiring to confirm it is all working. That leaves the starter. Several taps and she won't go. Can anyone help us out by bringing a good used starter or a new one to the rally. We have many talents and will be able to change it there if I get my hands on one. Please let me know, we have access to ADV during our trip. Or I can be reached at rob_robinson@manulife.com Thanks for your help. Rob (Puddle).
And... or where can I buy one between Pittsburg and the rally? Our route is 219 southbound. Thanks. Rob
I will be there tomorrow night. I am also bringing a hot babe with me. What is the word on dinner Friday and Saturday night? Do we need to sign up somewhere? Should be there by 6 or so. Kenny (AKA Mexican beach bum) & PJ
Getting ready to roll out for Macon, GA within the hour. Should be at Cruso maybe around 3 - 5 PM on Friday.
Give Ivan a call: Motorrad Unlimited Address: 515 Short McDowell St #6, Asheville, NC 28803 Phone:(828) 505-0927 If he's got one I can bring it Sat. afternoon.
Latest weather report is highs in the 50's (15-18 for our metric friends) Saturday and Sunday. Rain off and on all weekend. We have been in a funky pattern here the last couple of weeks. Monday-Thursday are perfect for camping and then a cold/cool front rolls through on Friday bringing lower temps and rain. This weekend appears no different.
I suck... Surprise visit from a friend in Chicago puts me out this weekend. Y'all have fun!!! Mike, take it easy man, and I'll hopefully see you in the fall. Mark, stay away from sharp objects.
Forecast for Asheville (NOT Cruso...it's 20 miles as the crow flies, but a weather center away...) is 69F and scattered showers chances at nada to slim. Saturday? 62F with possible showers, probably later in the day. Put it this way: it is spring in Appalachia. Anything is possible. That's why I like it here
You Guys post up some pics from the rally this weekend, while your there for us Slacker, No Good Losers that can't make it this weekend........... :ddog Boojum
I broke a mirror holder on the K100. I am going to spend the night with my son, near Mt. Airy and tape the mirror on. I will hit the Blue Ridge in the morning and see you guys tomorrow afternoon. I stopped at Northern Tools and bought a rain suit. If it rains I will need it on this naked bike. Why didn't I ride the RT? Sometimes I am daft.
Packed and ready to go. I should arrive tomorrow around 2-3 PM. Good chance to try out the new tent. Rain chances are 60% Saturday and 70% Sunday.
Sort of packed up, no tent this time, going light, got a little cabin. Hope to be on the road no later than 3:30...crap about 6 hours riding time if all goes well, damn interstate run. Duffel packed, spare front tire as I'm trying to get all I can out of this one, may change it Saturday morning. Looking forward to the ride and seeing everyone.
