I worked in telecom power for a couple of years and we did regularly that too, used an IR thermometer to look for hot spots/bad connections on AC and DC circuits and occasionally found one....the IR thermometers were also very handy for troubleshooting diesel generators. Bought myself one recently and it has been handy for all sorts of stuff and FWIW a decent one is only about $50.

KLR & a Snap-on tool cabinet... I'm calling photoshop on that one :lol3

Seriously though, it looks good! Maybe needs a little colour somewhere?

For you ADV member/readers, who are also Costco members, Costco has a package with an IR thermometer and a moisture meter (for checking wood, basements, etc.) for $22.

This is mine for now but we're selling and moving to SC. Plan to build as close to my perfect garage as money will allow.

I'm not too hung up on where I sit, but................

With the Cornwalls and 175 watts RMS @ 8 ohms in each corner angled at 45 degrees, the sweet spot is in the very center of the shop.

The Velodyne DD-15 sub woofer doesn't care where you sit.

Anywhere in the shop is fine for background music while working on projects.

However the sound is so big, you can hear well out doors too, of coarse so do the neighbors.

I also spend a good amount of time in my office in the corner of the shop on my computer. Here I can listen to the big system or play the office system which is very good as a stand alone with 4 ceiling mounted Speakercraft AIM 10 Threes over head in each corner coupled with my computer which has a Creative Audiology driving my Mitsubishi power amp and Canton sub woofer.
