Guys I don't a lot of you realize just how hard it is to find internet in Latin/Southern America. It's good to be on your toes, but let's all take a breather.

Ok I'm caught back up again! You didn't run away with another boatload of hot chicks again did you? :lol3

Very cool report so far. I road in a bus on "The Death Road" in Bolivia all the way to Coroico back in '99 (when it was the only road). Let me tell you, it was one of the scariest things I've ever done.

When you have a road that narrow, are in a bus at the mercy of the driver, you see a big truck coming the other way, and one of the dually tires is hanging off a cliff as you squeeze by - I've never felt so close to God :eek1

I was really starting to wonder if Bolivia swallowed him up. But I just visited his Flickr page and the pic below is labeled "Lago Escondido" which is located in Tierra del Fuego, so looks like he made it! Also found 80 more pics tagged as "Argentina" so it seems like Joe is doing just fine. As usual.

A terrible quake fer sure, but the epicenter was 1000 miles from Tierra del Fuego and on the other side of the Andes. This would be like warning your friend in Kansas to be careful because there was a huge quake in Los Angeles!
    :jack

Of course, since it's Joe, I suppose he COULD be in Kansas!
