When we was in Vladivostok it was a big Navy parade. A lot of ships and submarine.
Here you can see some military ships. Photo taken from the hotel.

We also had to try some old russian military equipment. Not so many years ago this was not possible. (Cold war)

We meet only friendly people on our trip.
We could feel that east of Ural mountans the people had more time and was more interested in us. Maybee the reason for that was that not so many travel there. This photo is taken in the middle of the day. We had a small stop and some people came over and asked if we was hungry and wanted lunch??? At that time we was not hungry and wanted to go on, but with this hospitality you have to join the company. A lot of photos was taken and we had a good time

Some city's in russia are very beautiful. (My favorite St.Petersburg), but the contrast is big.

On the way it's no problem to buy something to eat or drink. This supermarked somwhere in Siberia had "almost" anything.

Maybee someone does not know anything about lake Baikal, but Lake Baikal is the deepest lake in the world, and the largest freshwater lake in the world by volume, holding approximately twenty percent of the world's total fresh water.

Here are we close to Lake Baikal

As soon as we stop at the lake someone came over and asked questions. Their little son had to try to sit on the motorcycle and photo's was taken

We had garmin world map on the GPS and used that together with a road map. It worked out good. It's not a problem to drive, but some citiy's are very big and the traffic is bad. If the road have 3 lanes it's normally 6 cars charing the 3 lanes.....

    Here the traffic is ok.

When you don't have the normally stuff to clean with only the best will work.. I used Russian vodka. My friends told me that I had to use as little as possible...........

The result was good. You use what you have to fix it. Here I used some plastic copound.

We had no big problem with the police........
Only a small problem. One us had to stop for the police and show the documements. The problem was he could not find the original documents to his bike. I had a copy, but was waiting som km in front of him. He was sitting in the back of this car while the policeman called the station. To make the story short he could just go on. They tried to speak to each other, but one speaking only russian and the other only english they had to stop the discussion.....
(He found the documents on his desk at work after he got home....)

This policeman only wanted to look at the motorcycles and take some photo's.

    Document control.
It's very often document control. When you go in or out of big city's you always pass a document control. Sometimes they stop you. Here they look at the documents when we leave Ulan-Ude.
