Hi All My '85 CH150 is coming along really well. Took it on a long drive today and everything is running real well. I've almost got rid of all the odd noises. I'm getting my coolant changed this week which I'm excited for because If I'm on the highway it seems to heat up somewhat quickly, and looking at the coolant it seems pretty soupy so I'm just having the guys at the shop change it. Other then that the transmission I rebuilt seems to be doing well with just one small leak due to a bolt that broke off and I had to drill through. I have some "Kleen-flo - Silicon Gaskey Maker" to take to that tomorrow to hopefully fix the leak. My one other realisation is my shocks are shot. I hit some waves in the pavement and I bounce around for like 10 seconds. I'm curious if anyone here has had any experience replacing the shocks? I've seen various different aftermarket or alternate branded shocks online but I'm really not sure what direction to go with this. Or what measurements to look for. I found that Partzilla does offer new shocks for $67 a piece. Plus they would probably charge about $50 to ship to me, then customs on top of that... So I'm trying not to go this route as I'm trying to keep it on the cheap side. http://www.partzilla.com/parts/search/Honda/Scooter/1985/CH150+AC/SHOCK+ABSORBER/parts.html Lastly I do have a parts elite. Is there any way to tell if those shocks are better without putting them on mine? They appear just as old and that bike had similar mileage. Todays adventure.
I Measured one of the one's off my parts scooter, It's 11.5" from bolt hole to bolt hole. But I'd have to take in account that it's 28 years old and had approx. 37000km on it. Any guess on the rate of compression for the springs?

They work, but as shocks go they are crap. If that's all the budget you have for shocks than go for it. Based on reports from others, the ride will be on the firm side.
Hmm, I figured with them being adjustable I could loosen it up. I don't even weigh much, my current shocks just resemble something more like pogo sticks. any pointers? budgets around 150ish
Shocks off of a cb or cl360 bolt right up. Makes the bike a whole lot more stable with less pogo effect at speed. The only downfall is that they are a little taller and will make your center stand unusable. The trade off is worth it though.
Sounds great. I don't even have a center kick stand. I will definitely be looking into getting a pair of those shocks. Side note; got a quote to get my panels painted today. Sick price, Excited to start getting it painted next week.
