I was offered a 1998 ktm 620 for $1,500 with a ton of accesories, including white plastics lights for night riding and other stuff. Engine was recently rebuilt. How is this price. Too high, just right, or exellent. Thanks for any info. Roman
If the Bike has been freshened up its not a bad price. You would be better off asking this on Thumpertalk.com though. This section is for the LC8 Motored Adventures and Super Enduro's
Might be a decent price. Might be a bad price. Hard to say without pic's and without knowing exactly what "recently rebuilt" means exactly. Who did the rebuild, what was done...? You need to give the bike a thorough checking over and decide for yourself if you think it's worth it. Creeper's Looking at a used LC4?
as nico said... 1500 is an average price for the bike. rebuilt can mean many things. there are some engine upgrades that must be done to make this a very reliable engine. it would be ok if just overhauled, but bearings should be upgraded to the new style to be very good. a good lc4 mechanic would know that. your average bike rebuild guy would not. as for the chassis there isn't really a lot to look for. the whole bike (in parts) is still readily available from both ktm and the aftermarket so even if it had bad links or bearings it's not an expensive or difficult repair. i say look closer.
