I have some camping info on Bull Shoals State Park. Camp sites for tents are $11/night per person, two tents per site. They have water but no electricity. Camp sites with water and electricity are $18/night per person, two tents per site. The lady I spoke with said there is a buddy site #82 & 83 that have water and elect. that is open and next to that is #86 & 87 that just have water. I could not reserve because they require deposits. Call 870-445-3629 to reserve. She talked like the sites with just water were pretty much always available. Gastons Resort requires deposits as well so I could not reserve more than the room I am staying in. Gastons is right down the road about 1/4 mile from the State Park. There number is 870-431-5202. They have double occupancy riverside for $99/night and non riverside for $89/night double occupancy. Make plans now and beat the rush.
Gonna try. Have a big DR. appt tomorrow that may decide things. Sure seems like a great group and I really like Gastons. No tents for me. Thanks.
I have camp site 42 reserved for Friday and Saturday night. It has both water and electric hook ups and the girl told me it was full shade and on the river. It is also right across the street from the bath house. If someone wants to set up there with me that will be fine. The cost for the site is $18.00 plus tax per night. I hope we have a big turn out.
Kewl! Lookin forward to seein you and catchin up on things. Are you riding or trailering? I am trying to decide if I should bring the grille or not. Or maybe I will ride up myself.
I'm going to trailer up (in the back of the pickup) early Friday morning. If you bring your grill maybe we can get some big ole juicy steaks for Friday evening. AS Albie mentioned Gastons will be glad to feed us too. I'm up for anything. Heck, I may catch some fish and fry those suckers up!
I guess I will trailer up Friday afternoon as well and I will bring the grille. I am not sure I will get there in time to do much riding but I am going to try. See you all there. Oh and I figured out why I have been getting requests to share the route from Google Docs. I had the files shared but I put them in a folder that was not shared. Fixt now!
I got things squared away (roasted one weenie yesterday) and I'll be there before dark on Friday. See you at 42 CopperJohn!
Were you just teasing us with talk of cooking us a stew???? Hmmmmm???? Arkwizzie will be coming if he can handle his dog (more code). I hope he does, otherwise it will be 4 flat-trackers and Magoo. Doesn't bother me, I know how to shortcut routes .
Going camping, fraid not this time. Hate to miss the poker game.... Leaving today to go wrangle kitties..... Getting close to moving them up here. Considering I don't have a job, I sure am busy. :: grump ::: Was that a good excuse for wimping out???????? How bout this one then? I have not geared Red&Black down yet so I can lead another short easy ride for us slow old guys... Too busy supervising the local construction & helping Colleen make executive decisions.... Whatcha think? Good one????
WooHoo! Did some rearranging on vet appointments and I am cleared to ride. I got the last $99 room at Gaston's. McGoo, you are welcomed to share the room, if you don't mind the sound of sawing logs.
Be carefull of the USFS Backcountry map. It is difficult to find because a few of us got it pulled. The USFS has a new version. The new version also has MANY and LARGE mistakes on it. I do not know if we are going to have the energy to get it pulled or not, but it needs to be junked. All the mistakes on the map benefit ether non-motorized forest users or ATV, or both. devro
