Lander 250

Any thoughts on a guy spending a year in Mexico? I'm a 20 stone man with a 1.5 stone dog in a cargo box. I will use mostly for errands but want to explore the area around Guadalajara and Lake Chapala. My thoughts are a 250 Lander. Any input is appreciated.

Brian,

I live here in Peru, South America and run a Moto Adventure Tour company. Here's my experience:

I took two Landers on a 36-day gravel ride 5,200 km all over Peru, and never had a problem. The advantage is that it is fuel injected and you don't have to mess with jets....

I prefer the two Honda XR250 Tornados I have now. Tho they are carb, they are tougher than the Lander (exterior plastic, handlebars..) and the engines (altho muted) are INDESTRUCTIBLE! Better yet, get one of the new Honda XRE300s!

Cheers! Toby

that is a great bike, and the tornado from honda is also great. but be the envy of everyone and buy a Tenere 250! they are coming to Mexico this 2014 ... lander will no longer be sold her (because of the tenere I think). The 300 from honda is no where near here!

I had a tornado and loved it, would buy it again.
