I was thinking about heading down myself on Sunday but I am still very green (slow) on a dirtbike and even greener (slower) in the sand. Like, slllooooooooow.

What are you riding and what is your pace? Experienced? Is your route super sandy or more hardpack?

I am on a plated XR400 that was used to hunt dinosaurs back in the Cretaceous era.

My two trips down there were based from the 206 side and I am looking for an entry point that is more hardpack to learn on.

probably not a good ride for your experience level as i enjoy the challenges the deep sand has to offer.

Let us know if the rangers give you guys any grief....

2 weeks ago i checked in at the ranger station and asked how the conditions were for riding since the heavy rains came through.
The one ranger who rides a 650KLR told me the conditions were perfect and have fun.
no issues and did see many rangers on the trail as well as a state police SUV. i just waved and they waved back.
no problem.
We were all on legal track and all on legal bikes.
