Hello Mr Hicks, The outershell is going to be more "stiff" than the Defender, but is by no means "crunchy" like the Klim Adv Rally. With the Everest having the Gore-Tex Liner bonded to the outershell, it does pick up some added thickness as compared the Ripstop Cordura on the Defender. Also the fit should be very similar. I had the similar experience in both. The 3L TFL Cool is a sun / heat reflective coating which should not wear off, but I have REV'IT! checking on it. Also the Everests are slated to arrive around March 10th 2011. Let me know what else I could clarify on. Anthony
Awesome! I just called and placed the order. The guy said it was the first grey ones sold out of this batch!!! I'm a happy Walrus!
I love it man. We appreciate your business. Thanks for giving us the ability to earn it. I want to see pics of you in your new gear posted up here Anthony
No problem. You guys are great. I bought my Gerbings, and a tire from you before. I couldn't be happier with your service, your web site, or your people. Everyone I've talked to on has been fantastic. You have a really good crew up there. So thank you and all your people for everything, and I will continue to do business with you in the future. Larry
Hey Anthony, I appreciate Revzilla's progressive website and helpful videos. I'm researching the CP and Defender and will buy one of them from you guys. I used to own a first generation Cayenne and even though I'm a XL I fit in a XXL in the Cayenne. I'm probably going for the Defender for it's better venting. Does it also fit a size smaller? And what about the pants? I have a 37" waist...is that also an XXL? Thanks in advance... Mike
To ship orders to Australia do they have to be over $299 or is that just for free international shipping. If not whats the ballpark figure to ship a winter jacket and gloves to Aust? Cheers
Hey Mike, I am not even going to go off of my memory of the original Cayenne It's been a looong while since I had one on comparatively. Are you an XL or a XXL in the Cayenne Pro? It will fit similar although the CP may be a hair more snug - as it was designed to be. The CP is a Sport cut and the Defender is a Touring cut, but it will not make you have to change whole sizes. Also with the pants, the REV'IT! pants are designed to be much higher waisted for comfort and protection at speed in the riding position. Is 37" your true waist (circumference around you belly button) or your jeans waist. Unfortunately the "jeans" waist doesn't tell us much. A true waist and a inseam are the minimum for me to put a stake in the ground. Sorry to be a pain, but I want to make sure we can get it as close to right as we can on the first goaround. Check out this vid on how to measure your REV'IT! Pants: <iframe title="YouTube video player" width="640" height="390" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/nS4kpW7f99s" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe> Let me know what you come up with. Anthony
Hey ADZ, For an international order we need the total to be over $299. The shipping is based on weight, what did you have in mind? Many items vary. Anthony
Hey Anthony, I'm looking at and considering a few Rev'It jackets to chose from and get very soon. (Along with everything else, I'm still wearing all my sportbike gear when im out. ) While I still have my eye on the Sand jacket, the Sirocco jacket fits my budget and needs better, considering I have to buy boots, pants and a new helmet soon as well. So my question is, do you know when you're going to get more of the Sirocco's back in stock? Im looking at getting a 2XL in the light grey/silver color. If its still going to be a while I might put in my order for some Sidi ADV rain boots instead. Thanks
Hi, I'm thinking of replacing my old Mistral pants with the new Tornado pants. From your video and from Rev'its literature it sounds as if the Tornado should be at least as cool in the summer as the Mistral pants, and maybe a bit warmer in cool weather since the liner is insulated, which isn't the case with the Mistral's liner. Do you agree that this is true? Also, is it reasonable to assume that I should buy the same size Tornado pants as the Mistrals I wear? One additional question, the full length zippers up the inside of the legs on the Tornado pants sounds as if it might be uncomfortable between my upper thigh and the side of the seat on my bike (a 1200GS with a Sargent seat) Do you have any feedback about that yet? I'm looking for pants that are cool in the summer but can also work reasonably well when the weather cools off. I've been assuming that the Sand pants won't be as cool so even though I have a Sand jacket I haven't been considering getting the sand pants. Am I correct that the Tornado pants will be cooler than the Sand Pants? Thanks for your help.
Hey Avocet, The Tornado's all arrived this week and are in stock and shippable. The new REV'IT! Tornado Pants will vent better in the summer keeping you cooler (cooler than the Sand Pants as well). They also feature the REV'IT! Hydratex G Liner system which is a waterproof / breathable / thermal setup in one liner. I would consider them slightly warmer as the airflow in colder temps will be more but the thermal element should balance them out. It will be a net positive in the cooler temps with the new setup. I can't comment on your seat setup with the zippers, as everyone is built and sits ergonomically different on the bike. I think you will know when you are in the saddle for the first time if they are going to work or not. It is going to be a personal preference type of thing, but I know that REV'IT! did spend time thinking about it when they were designing them. It is something we are waiting to hear user feedback from as well. As for the sizing, the Tornado's are cut slightly more fogivingly than the Mistral's based on our experience, but they will still use the same size chart - the REV'IT! Numeric chart. I would still double check your measurements before you purchase. Let me know if this covers the bases for you. Thanks, Anthony ps for anyone not familiar with the REV'IT! Tornado Jacket and Pants Combo - it is REV'IT!'s new 2011 Sport and Sport Touring Mesh combo. Anthony, Thanks for getting back to me so fast about the Tornado pants. I've decided to take a chance and assume that Revit was smart enough to design the full length leg zippers such that they don't cause a comfort problem by getting between the seat and the inner leg, so I'll be ordering a pair soon. Thank you.
Hey Guys, Not sure if you have seen the buzz surrounding some of the ADV threads, but the New Tornado Jacket and Tornado Pants (Mesh with 2-1 Waterproof / Thermal liner) as well as the New Gore-Tex Pro Shell Everest GTX Jacket and Everest Pants are now shipping. I posted the REV'IT! Tornado Video in a response a couple days ago, here is the video of the Everest GTX Jacket <iframe title="YouTube video player" width="640" height="390" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/Rc76mVzq9oo" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe> All questions welcomed as usual. Anthony
Hey Anthony, I just put in a order for some Sidi ADV Rain's about an hour ago and im here mulling over putting in an order for some Rev'it Sand jacket and pants today too. Again...another sizing question. I think we're gonna drive you guys to drink with these questions. For a comparative example, I take a A*'s sportbike jacket in a 48/58 with OEM padding and enough room for 1 or 2 core layers and its a pretty damn good fit. I watched the vids on sizing and looked at the charts till my eyes melted last night. I have a 44" chest, 6'0" tall and with a bit of mushyness around the midriff which im trying to work on....i swear. So right now im looking at a 2XL which puts me in the 44-46" chest range and 50/60 size range. Im looking at using the sand pants and jacket as a 3 (maybe 4) seasons type of gear. So, not much on underneath in the summer and a few layers (MAYBE a heated layer) in the colder temps. So do you think a 2XL should do the trick? The pants i think I have down to a XL. Im a 36/38 ish pants waist. The measured waist is about 42", as on the chart diagram. 31" inseam. 41/42 ish outseam. 44" hips. my guess is a XL? Thanks for the help -Jon
Hey Jon, Apologies on the delay but you are spot on for both the jacket and pant. Your measurements are ideal for the 2XL in the jacket and XL Standard for the pant. No worries on the inseam for standard length pant as while seated in the riding position, the armor will fall in correct position. The fit for both items will have room for layers but the insulating liners may need to be removed to accommodate heated gear. Please keep the questions coming, that's what we're here for! Anthony
Thanks for the replay Anthony! One order of 2XL Sand Jacket and one order of XL Sand pants, coming your way.
