Gents, There is the potential for a Ryan Young Trials Clinic on 12-13 APR in Sanford, NC. I am just gauging interest for the event at this point, but it looks like Ryan is available for the event if we chose to lock it in. This is a follow-up event that initially occurred last September at The Flying-H Ranch (Tarheel Wheeler's most-excellent trials playground). The last event was EPIC. Two days of first-class instruction from Ryan Young, who does an outstanding job of tailoring the lessons for riders of all experience levels. Last year's event included two full days of instruction (SAT and SUN), lunch on both days, entertainment on Saturday night (movies, pizza, and adult drinks) all for $170. Looking at something similar this year. If anyone is interested let me know, looking at making a decision in the next few weeks based on amount of interest. Best, GER
If only I was closer! A 35 to 37hr drive just isn't in the cards for me, not including the $... :eek1 Now if I could figure out how to get my 5 year plan down to 2 months then I could do it...
Hmm. 5h 40min to there from here...tempting. I do the TTC training days in the spring and Ryan's classes are the best. Is there camping on site?
Thanks for posting GER. You're right...last year was epic. It went so well that Ryan agreed to make the clinic here an annual commitment. The only other RY clinic I know of within a 3 state radius is the Maryland clinic in Sept, and it's all ready full. Camping is definitely available. We had 3 or 4 camp last year. Last thing...wish it was a Ranch, but it's just a little horse farm with a bunch of pristine Trials sections. Jonnyc21, Jump on a plane and fly into RDU. Ryan has rentals as do I.
There are a few hotels about 10-15 min away. Tent should be fine. Had one or two riders sleep in just bags under the stars last year.
The couch in the shop/tack room sleeps fine...that is unless you just want to throw a bag down in the hay loft.
DO IT I hosted several while living in Michigan and as a result, got to participate. I can attribute the biggest personal skills jumps to these courses. Slow, methodical, builds on basics, move on to higher techniques. Ryan is a very mature teacher with a very long history of honing his instructional skills. Very worth it.
We'd welcome you back anytime Brother. We're posting it as potential because it's relatively short notice for most. We'll stoke the fire and have the redneck barnside motorcycle drive inn theater going again. Think that was the best part of the clinic...hanging out with everybody around the fire, tossin' down good food and drink, pickin' Ryan's brain about Trials, and watchin' sweet sickle movies on the side of the barn...well except for the Toni Bou instruction DVD.

Can you elaborate on this? I'm flirting with the idea of flying down from CT. I have alot of frequent flyer miles. You have rental bikes onsite? Ryan brings extra bikes to rent out? Are they at least semi-modern? I'm a noob.
Not this year, but I hope there continues to be a clinic in the area. We'll be relocating to Ft Bragg from D.C. this summer.
Ryan has rentals. Last year they were 2013 Sherco 3.0 2T and ran $200. Coordinating a rental thru Ryan is really easy. Not sure what he'll have this year. I'll most likely have 1 or 2 bikes available as well...a 12 Beta Evo 250 will be one. The other is yet to be determined...stay tuned.
