Meet-n-Greet Ann Arbor, MI?

Stockwood650 & I rent a house on the Old West Side, plenty of parking, and have turned 2 rooms into a motorbike hostel of sorts, and would like to host some Bike Nights and rally type gatherings to give the SE MI area riders a place to roost. My sister bought a 2010 F650Twin that she's keeping here to learn riding on some of our great backroads around here, and I thought it might be nice to get a few people interested in exploring the area. SEM has some very pretty riding that I don't think too many people know about.

Any thoughts? Interest?

pretty sure A2 has a bike night on main st. Wednesdays. Backroads you say? I know a few........

True. Main is a pain for parking, and I thought a picnic/BBQ type atmosphere would create more mingling opportunities.

Ypsilanti has a nice bike night on Tuesdays. Easy parking and good group that shows up.

Just thought it'd be fun to offer up a local event, even on a monthly basis.

I'm from the Fint area, but i drive to Livonia for work everyday.

Late last summer, I came down to A2 for the Wednesday bike night to say hi to some people who showed up there. Much to my surprise, nary a bike showed! I was there by myself, waiting an hour for anyone to arrive. Had some dinner at one of the local bistros and headed home.

I'm always up for meeting more of the crew.

Sounds like a great idea! Count me in.
Now if the weather would just cooperate...

Cool! Looking for input - a weekend day (meet n ride) and a weekday night - so maybe 2x a month if folks are interested.

I've stopped by the Wed night on Main as well, and it just doesnt seem populated -

Guess I'll cruise out to price a Weber bigger than my tiny grill.

Will start crafting a mid-late April date and keep everyone posted.

Arrrrgh! I work Sundays! But I can always get someone to cover once in awhile.

Weekends better than week days. You plan I'll show if I can.

Ok, thinking of end of the month 30th, weather permitting (um, why is it sleeting out right now?) general gathering fly in, fly out if you'd like @4-8, get out the grill, dogs, chips, dips, fill the cooler, mingle... bring a flash drive and maybe we can get a GPX file exchange going (Apple house FYI, I'm far from PC in so many ways) or I'll have some general maps of the area available...

There's a good book called Dirt Road by Rob Pulcipher, (a local mountain biker that lives couple streets over from me) that describes some of the very roads I've been scoot'n on for many years - for those that might not be familiar with the Western part of Washtenaw/Jackson Co. It's a nice read, as it includes some maps and photos of old barns and surrounding areas that are often overlooked.

Count me in for the 30th I cook out will give me the kick butt to get the trunk back on the bike.

Post up your plans when you make me. I have a buddy not 4 miles from Ypsi who might want to tag along as well.
