Well, there you go. Another one steps up to the plate and takes a swing. My sage advice is to keep it as "Farm Rules" as possible. Offer little, and then over deliver. What people really seem to want in long distance events is a variety of accomodation types including a campground, some good riding nearby, some decent grub, and a coupla campfires to sit around in the evening and embellish a story or two. Woodland Park would seem to offer all of that. Good luck with it. If you need advice/info, feel free to shoot me a note. Subscribed, and put me in as an "in"...... Dave
July 28-29ish would be nice, could tie RMAR in Silverton and have a killer week +. Whatever works for you, thanks for stepping up and taking this on. Tentative IN.
That's exactly what I was thinking: Ride the east slopes of the Colorado Rockies one weekend, spend a couple days cruising across the state, and then ride the west slope following weekend.
You shouldn't be tempting my old, broken, bike verboten body this early. Would have to find a new bike and probably be single again. :huh
I think I'm gunna have my plate full this year (well, next year), but if the dates work out, I'm sure there will be one or two groups doing a cross-state trek. I can post some suggestions, but someone else will have to lead that ride.
So RMAR is going to be in Silverton? That would be schweet! I was kinda pushing for that as our "Plan B" this last summer. Hmmmm..... If there would be interest in working a Colorado IronButt into the program, I'd definitely be up for that. It would be hard to keep a group of any size moving together for that distance in that time though, without someone getting their feelings hurt... I'll have to put my thinking cap on and see if you could put together enough fast roads that stayed entirely in Colorado without too many curvy slower roads. Oh, put me down as an "IN" please!
Yeah, spot the corners, like Walsenburg, Alamosa, Durango, Grand Junction, etc. I can see how it would work.... you just have to tear yourself from your milling machine and get out here this summer!
