A designated thread for BMW aftermarket fairings. Start off w/ the Piranha. They were fairing kits made available for the 55-69 Twins. They mounted off the M8 headlight bracket bolts and the two M10 bolts that secured the Earles fork top brace. I'll go through my photos and find a front view pic of them.

I've got an early Vetter Windjammer that I'm partial to: I've had it forever and a day and the older I get, the comforabler it becomes. If I had my druthers, I'd like to try a Hannigan someday.
This is a "Daytona" fairing manufactured by Meyer Plastics, Inc that came on my R90/6. I know very little about it, but it's a heavy SOB. I sold it years ago. It used the original turn signals mounted on aluminum stalks. I can't remember if it used the BMW headlight, too, but this picture from when I rescued it from a 25 year slumber makes me believe it did. ..and just for reference, here's the bike now as my daily rider:

this is the super el cheapo fairing installed on my bike: Its not nearly as clean as a real s fairing, but close. mounting it is a total PITA
This fairing is a Glaser #44 T S with Talbots for mirrors and Hella turn signals on the side (note the shape) of the fairing. I only know this because Carl was able to lead me to its designation. THANKS Carl! The fairings previous owner said it was brought to America in 1964. Actually 3 of them were and this is the one he wanted. The fairing is actually just sitting on its mounts and wasn't tight. I shot these after transporting the bike to my garage with the tank and fairing off so we would all arrive at the same place, at the same time, if you knows what I mean?
I bought this off a guy who brought it back from Germany many years ago. It is all metal, Black with hand painted White Stripes. Windscreen is 7 /14 inches at its widest point. Frontal area has that wider look at the bottom and tighter at the top look. I have a brand new screen but it hasn't been drilled as of yet. Can you name this 1/4 fairing?

Brotha! It looks like you got the same one I did, I made my own brackets, and it bolted right on. I went in front of the turn signals though. I notice you did not use the little HD chrome skulls to hold it on like I did.
hah nope. custom brackets, and also mounted on the turn signals to keep it more stable, but the damned thing vibrates and the screws keep coming off the windshield. but yeah, not bad looking for the money
This is my Wixom fairing, sorry I don't have any of it on the bike. I had it on last fall, but i didn't really like it. The air coming off of it moved my head around so much I would get a stiff neck. I think I may try cutting down the screen. And the chip was there when I got it.
Somebody must have a Flanders R 400 here. They look bitchin when they are trimmed up and cleaned up. Who has one?

I have no idea of the background of this fairing but I'd say it's design origins haven't strayed too far from the venerable R100RS fairing.
