Good morning folks,

This guy called last night, said he's interested in a trade for my old chebby p/u.
What's your oppinion of these ol' tanks?
I'm not expecting steller performance, but would like comfort, torque, and reliabillity..
I think there might have been some weak/warpy brake problems, and maybe the charging/regulator problems apply as well.
Oh, and where would one find a stock seat for this bike?
I hate those ugly, bun-sucker, wanna be chopper saddles... geeze...

That seat looks like a vintage Corbin, it's a dead ringer for one I bought for an airhead RT of the era.

If you go for it make sure the pipes are clean and rust-free - those will be hard to source these days.

Otherwise, cool old bike if it's clean as it looks. The DOHC Honda 750 wasn't as bullet-proof as the original SOHC engine, but in that application it should be fine.

Ja, good point..
Those pipes would be hard to replace.
Or, if they were to rust out it'd be big weight savings to be shed of 'em..

Doh! The phone just rang,, it was the 750 owner,, he's not into the deal on the truck.. Oh well, there's other ways of gettin' into a bike.

double bit,i ran into a guy at the gas station on a 79 750 kawasaki today.it looked ok from about 12 feet.after a talk he said it wasnt as pretty close up but it only had 12K miles on it.i had an 80 yamaha 650cc MAXIM from 95-99.bought it for $750.put on 10K and sold it for $750.it had 16K when i bought it and 26K when i sold it.great bike.and there are still alot of them around.good luck.

Bike looks good at low resolution. All the DOHC 750 K's came with spoked wheels. The rims, reverse comstars, look like they are off a '79 750L (or other compatable Honda series) with only a single disc up front(standard on the K/L). The seat could be a Corbin, Mustang, or JCW knockoff. The engine should be bulletproof if not abused. Aftermarket pipes are available. She is air cooled so don't worry if there is a little oil consumption. Check the four prong plug for corrosion under the left side cover where it plugs into the starter solenoid.

Brakes might need a good overhaul.
