Sorry to start a thread looking for information that is already on the site but I am riding in Cuba and the internet here is too slow and expensive to browse all day.

I will put some reports on my riding in Cuba on my RR (Earth, Wind and Tires) when I get back to North America in a few weeks but for now I am looking for some information for an Austrian rider that is here with me.

He is going to get on a cargo ship to the Ukraine and is wondering about entry visas for him and requirments to get his bike into the country.

Anyone have anything they can offer that I can pass along?

Austrian citizens entering as a tourist get 90 days without a visa in Ukraine. He'll need a visa for Russia though if he intends to travel onwards.

Like Wildman said, entering Ukraine as an Austrian is mostly hassle-free. They'll ask him about his destination (you can lie) and give him a piece of paper to keep with the passport until he leaves the country. You shouldn't lose that.
