Where is that? I mean, I know "Shotgun Creek", but can you give me a Google Maps link or a lat/lon coord? Looks like muddy fun
Got a Benchmark Oregon map? page 60 (about F,3.5) head north out of Springfield on Marcola road. Through the town of Marcola. Near the old townsite of Mabel, is a road to the west, Shotgun Creek road, and a few miles up there is an OHV area. Watch out for quads on some of the trails!
So about here, right? http://maps.google.com/maps?q=Marco....243846,-122.861137&spn=0.06493,0.131321&z=13
Hey, I was up there 2/8/09 Sunday afternoon in my cage. I was checking the place out. I saw a solo rider leaving the area on a muddy Suzuki DR that had a little blue showing. Guess it was a DR Z400s... Here is a map link of all the OHV trails in Oregon. http://www.trailsource.com/scripts/three.asp?STATENAME=Oregon&TYPE=DIRT Here's the Oregon State Parks link. http://atv.prd.state.or.us/places.php Dave
Very nice pics. Tell us your secret -- Big-bucks digital SLR? Do I see flash in there? Some fancy photoshopping to amp up the saturation?
I will never tell Actually you got it just about right. The action pics are with one of my pro SLR's with a super wide angle lens and a flash. The trail pics are with a canon point and shoot g9. I do a little post editing to get the colors and mood. The big secret is knowing where and when to shoot. And that has come from shooting professionally for the last 15 years, working on motorcycle ad campaigns all around the country
Yeah... I didn't check the date until after I posted it. I linked directly to here from a google search for Shotgun Creek.
Don't feel bad, I've been searching a bit for that area as well. Suppose it's below snow level? If you go, post some updated pictures and reports to keep the thread relevant. Good luck.
Shouldn't be any snow there right now. It'll be another couple months before I can get tires. The ones on my bike right now wouldn't cut it.
