Please tell me that these things get better. I have only put about 200 miles on them since I had them installed on my tiger, but they are driving me insane. These things ride rough, won't hold a line in the corners, and you have to really work to keep the bike going straight at highway speeds. Compared to my dry-rotted Avon Distanzas (sp?) these are garbage so far. Please tell me they get better.

I tried a set on my Wee. I could have written the paragraph above, verbatim. I took them off and sold them. Went back to the nice, smooth, quiet, neutral-handling Trailwings.

Mine were radials. I would have done better to strap chunks of 2x4 around the rims.

My experiences are 100% opposite of yours, on a V-strom. They are a little rough when new at about 15mph when stopping.

Mine came off for the same reasons, plus one more: Don't hold a line for shit in the corners. I'm back on Tourances...ahhh...my sweet handling bike is back.

They were cheap though, huh? :lol3

I've got a couple of hundred miles on mine and don't even notice them. No problems straights or curves on my Wee. Had them on dirt and gravel roads too and they were fine.

For what it's worth, I'm running 40 psi front, 42 rear.

I've got a buddy running them on his wee with no problems at all, too.

dont run the shinko 705 front tire.

    Just the rear.

the front is reported to handle odd.

the rear does really well for many of us.

Same on my Tiger. They settled down after 4-500 miles, but never good as my trail attacks. Liked them really well on gravel though. Bad part is I would vaporize a rear in 3500 miles. Too low of mileage to be a good deal, even at their price. Back on Conti trail attacks now.

I put a set of the radial 705s on my Tiger in the spring. I'm quite happy with them. In fact I like the handling traits. They are definitely more aggressive turning than the Bridgestones or the Tourance I had on before, but personally I'd rather sporty than cruiser. I don't seem to have any issue going in a straight line, although prefer turning

I presently have about 5000 kms on mine. Rear is I'd guess 1/2 worn, front is like new. Not bad so far...time will tell how they hold up.

Not the smoothest rolling tire in the world, but certainly tolerable.

I'm planning to try a pair of Anakee2 next time, although they'll have to be twice as good to support the more than double price (at least up here in in Canukistan).

Had a set on my Wee and my 955 Tiger. They're a bargain/compromise tire and that's fine for a lot of riders.

I like my Conti's much better...

I think this is my biggest problem. I thought I would be ok with this. Definately not. The tiger road like a dream before these and now I just get pissed off driving down the road. No more bargains on tires for this guy.

once again, run a different front.

the rear 705 is a great tire, the front not so much.

I run a rear 705 and a front tkc80, bike handles very well. much improved over tkc80 front+rear everywhere but mud.

I have the 705s on my NX125 and have not experienced any issues at all. Granted, the NX is worlds away from the Tiger and V-Strom @ ~240 lbs. I run the pressures that Honda recommends; 22 psi front & rear. They've been smooth, hold a nice arc in the corners and track in a straight line.

Are there radial and non-radial versions of this tire? I ask because I was thinking of replacing the Tourances, on my TransAlp, with these when the Metzlers wear out (on the advice of another TA owner). A little doubt is beginning to creep into that thought process...

So I have logged a few miles on these tires and I am a bit happier. The front end is not a twitchy as before and it feels less like rubble strips at <5MPH. There is still a bit of a weird "spot" during a lean where it seems like the front tire is going to slide out, but once you pass that it is fine.
Still not close to the performance of my old Avons but getting better.
