Sorry to hear the news about Calhoun, last time I saw him he was looking healthy. But things change, and often not for the better. Would like to know more info about his TAT ride but I don't do FB and my listserv access expired several yrs ago. Could ya copy the info and paste it into a PM for me? Many thanks!

Thanks OG for the clarification :thumb

Bit rich for my blood, I grew up target shootin in whatever woods I could get to, reckon I'll just keep to it. Amazing how many long range ranges are out here :deal

In Montana now, fighting a big bad fire in the Lolo Natnl Forest - this is absolutely gorgeous land! But my god is it steep!

No worries mate. Good thing you're all trained up from ride'n & race'n.

Do you practice breathing in smoke while your doing your training rides? :lol3

If plans go well, I'm gonna do the 200 mile Beast route tomorrow.

If plans go well, I'm gonna do the DS and Upper Pond routes Sat.

If any of you FF's want to do either or both, POST UP.

Fair warning: Beast route tomorrow will probably exceed posted and non-posted speed limits. :D

In other words,,, Beast ride will not be a "bird watching tour" (papa wheelie)

Just need to run the actual track and get it back to the Maestro.

    All you guys got beards....

According to Urban Cowboy "you wear any type of breathing devises and that beard has got to go".

Supposedly, that was one of the main reasons the Navy outlawed beards in the early 80's... caused problems with OBA fitment...(Oxygen Breathing Apparatus for firefighting):deal

As you can see in the pics they don't wear SCBA's doing wildland fire fighting! I think I'll stick to city fire fighting and wearing an SCBA! Breathing all that woods smoke can't be good for you but it seems to be an acceptable risk for them!

Would really like to ride; lemme see how far I get with das boot and how hot its gonna be this weekend. It will have to be 99% dirt--Suzie is still down for fuel tap--got sidetracked with the boat.

Got the boat engine apart, removed one seized spark plug, drilled out most of the second one-- which was completely fused into the head--about to try a 31/64ths drill followed by a 14mm tap. If that goes well, all that's left is clean everything up for reinstall and hope all the parts get here by the weekend for reassembly...:1drink

And while I have your attention-- not sure who is crazier in this...

I got it out according to plan. Thanks for the advice tho! :clap

I may yet have to tap your skills as I have shiz-canned the original cast iron manifolds and risers for a dry joint system. (Note: Save it OG--it won't get you high unless dropped on yer head from about 3 feet!!:lol3) Pretty sure it isn't going to match up with the existing exhaust/water plumbing but I am pretty good at adapting stuff...:deal Might have to "trim" the 4" aluminum outlet pipe a tad...

How's yer pop doing? You riding this weekend?

After watching this several times I finally figured out why the plane fly so cockeyed and not with wings level.

    Does anyone else know?

Lets see who gets it right.

It's not uncommon for me to not understand what people are talking about.

Slow plane down, reduce turbulence, make jump shorter!
