C'mon there guy. Plugging your sale when it specific to someone's question is one thing. Keep it in the "for sale" section.

Yeah, I've got good AC voltage out of the stator with no path to ground and clean wiring through the charging circuit. Charged and load tested the battery and thats good, I'm going to wire in a hokey ass loaner rectifier I've got kicking around to be sure but looks pretty suspect. In the meantime I'm stuck riding the VFR.
Well I've done it! After much consideration and debate, with myself and my Wife I pulled the trigger today..... Stock 2011 so let the Farkeling begin....................................
That's a good question - and that's a lot of wire. Wish I could help, but alas, my electronic skills are minimal. M.
Well done, so will it be ready for spring 2013 AND its WHITE, the very best (now the colour wars begin Ha Ha)
Thanks for the information, 955616846. Luckily I've got the old stock one to do research with, while also having one on the bike which unfortunately is on it's way out. Guess I'll just start unwinding, measuring, and taking lots of notes. I have been reading through the following pages... http://www.advrider.com/forums/showthread.php?t=189734 http://www.4strokes.com/tech/honda/brpstatr.asp Eddie over on Thumpertalk has repeatedly stated that rewinds have never lasted for him, so I am trying to do this the best I can. This will be the fourth stator for my bike. I was sold a lemon with a bad stator. My fault for being ignorant. The Ricky Stator I put in lasted a couple of thousand miles and they said they had a bad batch of the high output variety. After tearing down the engine I've seen that this one is on it's way out, even though the volt meter that I have hooked up was reading at a sufficient level. So in the last 13,000 miles, I am going onto stator number four and that's all been in the last year and a half. Hopefully my rewind will last more than a year.
Speaking of DRZ adventure bikes: if you guys are interested in how a cheap 2000 DRZ-E fared over 4000 miles through Labrador and Newfoundland, here's my RR: http://www.advrider.com/forums/showthread.php?t=823825
