I am looking at a C14 and I just got a quote for insurance on it.
$229 per year for "full coverage".
I was pleasantly surprised that it was not much more than my 650 Versys was and well in what I think is the reasonable range.
I was expecting $600 or more.

At just ~5 weeks short of my 30th birthday, I'd consider this to no longer be just "an old man bike" haha! :rofl

My insurance in NJ for a year with full coverage and fairly high limits is $503 for the year. I have a feeling that's going to go down by quite a bit in a few months, once I move to California.

May 2014 (p. 62) issue of the British RIDE magazine stated when commenting on used motorcycles that the 2007 to current 1400GTR may have skipping gears.

I have not read or experienced this.

    Anyone experience this?

I've got my 2011 up for sale and the Explorer is on my final list of replacement candidates. Anyone interested in a 2011 in great shape, drop me a line.

Would anyone be interested in buying my Vance and Hines CS One exhaust? I like how it sounds, but the neighbors get annoyed when I leave for work early in the morning. They have small kids, and I would rather sell the muffler then have them mad at me. Also, this way I can ride in front of my dad (this pipe aggravates his tinnitus, and he's an angry old fart). I'm asking $280 shipped to continental USA

The video at 4:10 sounds awesome!

Just got a new (to me) cherry 08 Connie with 6k miles. Haven't seen very many for sale in Canada and the ones I have have been beaten on and dropped so I snapped it up when I saw it.

She's still on original tires and they're starting to show tread bar. I was looking at Michelin Pilot Road 3s or PR4s, then I saw the PR4 GT which they recommended for bigger heavier bikes (supposedly they'll be coming OEM on some R1200RT bikes). Well considering my bike is a full hundred pounds more, and I'm 200 lbs, and I like to carry a decent amount of stuff with me, I assume I should get the PR4 GT version?

Anybody currently running PR4 GTs from Michelin? Especially warm weather state, high mileage guys who might have had a chance to get most of the way through a set since Jan

Also, I find the bars are angled awkwardly towards the back of the bike and down. I see all kinds of handlebar kits out there, but they seem to be focused on moving the bars up and back towards guys who can't lean down or don't want to. I'm tall enough and have a young back, I'd like to lean forward a bit, but the stock bars make my wrists splay outwards and it's not ideal.

Any handlebar mods that can make the bar position a bit closer to, say, a Suzuki Bandit?

My first and second C14 had PR2s on them when I got the bikes. I liked them.

For my second set on the second bike, I have gone with the Pirelli Angel GT in their higher load version. So far, I cannot say I like them better or worse than the PR2s.

As far as I know, PR2, PR3, PR4, Angle GT, etc., you're getting a VERY good tire that is supposed to be MUCH better than the OEM Bridgestone.

Here's a thread about the PR4's on the COG forum. So far folks seemed pleased with them, but there doesn't seem to be a drastic difference in performance or handling.
