hi Jase, all the best with the op., somethings are more important than great food and awesome trails!, I too may venture to the PD, perhaps see you there!
Thanks guys, got my name down for the PD but all depends how the op goes, got to have the bones fused in three places as they are in a bit of a mess but hopefully heal up quick as i am still only a young pup
Does anyone have the details of the campsite we are meeting at? and any ideas of routes that we will be doing, getting itchy feet now and want to start planning my routes etc.
Clive, ooh, you are a tease Last years campsite is here near Cherveix-Cubas Info here Charles is sorting things and will be along to announce any changes.
Hi guys, I am also preparing for this trip and waiting for more details (campsites, some waypoints?). Do you wear full body protection (MX style) or just a jacket and pants with some built-in protection? MX helmet with goggles or dual-sport helmet with a screen? I will be arriving sunday afternoon with a car and bike trailer, is there somewhere safe to park it for the week? Do we finish thursday or friday afternoon? Thanks for organizing the trip, I know it is a lot of effort.
Hi Christophe, just a very quick reply to your questions:- Wear what you normally wear, bear in mind it may be very hot, but then you're coming from somewhere that is probably even hotter! The campsite was happy for us to park up vans for a few days last year and I think they'll be OK with it this year however, I will check beforehand. Gazz has posted a link to the campsite location above. We plan to arrive back on Thursday afternoon. I will post up a little more route information in a few days, at the moment I'm struggling to find time to get out on the bike to check out some of the changes to the Day 3 route. Otherwise Days 1,2 & 4 are slightly modified versions of last years run.
Hi Magnon <?xml:namespace prefix = "o" ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-comfficeffice" /><o></o> I am sorry but I will have to give this year a miss <o></o> I am away in Spain just before you expedition and have always none that I would get home and have two days and then off to your do . <o></o> This would not have been a prob but with un finished work and a new house to move into I sadly have to give it a miss.<o></o> I do hope all works out and you all have the fun that I know riding in France gives us all <o></o> Hope we can get together with Phil in France as I get down that way all the time .<o></o> All the best and thanks <o></o> shan<o></o>
Dear Gentlemen, unfortunately I will not be able to join you for this ride. My boss has different plans for me for this week. Have a safe riding and tons of fun Stefan
It's going to be a muddy one! the rain has not stopped falling here for weeks now, that river crossing will be interesting:eek1 However if we get two weeks of dry weather it could all change. See you all soon Phil
Hi Phil, The trails are pretty muddy at the moment but the rivers are still OK. The weather is looking better from mid-week and is saying it will be dry next week.
... ta boue ne sera pas un problème, nous sommes habitués au Pays de Galles p.s Ferret - we need to meet up soon so I can put the routes on your GPS. I'm travelling Tues- Fri this week, back Saturday.
Is anyone on this rally doing the Ryedale Rally (Yorkshire 7-8th July) ? If so I may need some wheels taking back if you have space in your van. Thanks Phil
For anyone wanting a 5th days riding then I will be around on Friday 8th and can lead a group locally using one of Charles tracks from a couple of years ago.
Sounds good Gazz All going well we will hopefully head out for the spin on Friday also but will need to make for the ferry on Friday evening Passed by some of the areas last Sunday & the countryside was looking fab Looking forward to this
Forecast for Sunday and Monday is quite cool for the time of year with some light rain. Warms up from Tuesday. The base camp in Cherveix Cubas has changed hands. The new owner is still doing some improvement work but has a mobile home equipped with showers and toilets (all brand new). He hopes the main block will be finished for the weekend. The restaurant isn't open yet but the bar is and he will do meals for us on Sunday night. He'd like to know how many would like breakfast on Monday morning so he can order up the necessary. He's happy for vans to be left at the site as per last year.
Breakfast for me on Monday re: Sunday night - remember I'm vegetarian. No need to go to any trouble though, I can eat grass at a push
Yes please breakfast for me on Monday , and a meal on Sunday night sounds good, more meat the better for me
