Link to the writeup below.....BMW powered 650 breathed on by Husky engineers....they are calling it a street bike, is that a 17" front wheel? hard to tell from the pics, looks like a sanitized version of the moab.

If this is the only 600 class Husky, I'm not a fan. It is fine to produce a streetbike, if they still have a dualsport, but if this is the direction the are going for the 600 class I think it's too much BMW influence. BMW makes fine motorcycles, I just hope they don't turn Husqvarna into a different color BMW.

I'm glad BMW is providing the money for Husky, just wish they would keep the BMW's on the BMW side of the house, just my opnion...your's may vary.... I'm a big Husqvarna fan, I own two but I'm not interested in a short supermoto bike.

"A wide range of accessories to cater for a variety of requirements will also be available when the Concept Strada goes on sale in 2012."

    picture angle is tough...
since a properly sized 17" front dual sport tire (looks like a tourance) is very rare i'd say no OR people w/ 17" front should celebrate.

that's either a 19 or 21" and i'd say the article is wrong.

i'd say that the new 650 husky using the thumper rotax motor that's been talked about.
the suspension is much better than those skiney weak ones bmw puts on the gs and the dakar (sertao).
this might be equal to the gs (19" front)and another more performance bike might still come out like the dakar (21")

Looks like a 19" front to me, and I could be wrong but that doesn't look llike the rotax, looks like the current husky motor...

Here's another picture which I think confirms the 19" hoop:

MCN in the UK says that it is the same engine as the G650GS but breathed on, they also state it's 22KG lighter than the Beemer G650GS

Would make a nice Hooli bike... But if my calculations are correct, still a few pounds north of my Duke 2...

I like the bike and the combined effort of Husky and BMW. Even if Husky takes on a BMW motor, they make it their own. This bike should out preform the BMW derivative by a long way. I think that both companies can share parts and ideas without losing each of their cultures.

Keep the price sane and bring it to the US and I'd love to own one.

Maybe this gives us a hint what the Husky 900 offroader should look like when ( IF! :deal ) it comes.

Well I for one think it's BEAUTIFUL! :deal :freaky

Damnation! I could go for a street-oriented 650 like DR650, but with this kind of style! :clap

Wait, I'd be afraid of dropping it! :lol3

    Finally back in paradise...
Had the 630 series remained in production, I'd have nothing against a tweaked Rotax / budget framed offering such as this emerging, but not when it's bumping a hardcore existing model. I won't lose any sleep over it, but it's a tacky bean counter / boardroom decision, so typical these days... :nah

Who said they're stopping the 630?

My assumption is that the 630 would remain the more focused dirt bike. This strada looks to be much more dual sport (eg: 19" wheel)

It clearly says TOURANCE, but my photoshop skills doesn't reveal anything about size. It looks like 17".
