After a few close calls I think I am about ready to pull the trigger on a set of Safari tanks for my Adventure. I have the 2010 R model - mostly black with white front fender and white side panels. I ride quite a bit in the desert and was thinking maybe white tanks would be a better match for the heat than black ones but I can't see the white ones looking all that great on what is basically a black bike. Anyone out there got white tanks on a 2009-2011 R model? Any suggestions? Cheers, J.King

Sorry, here is where CJ's bike went from blue to white. He first went with the white Safari tanks and then slowly changed the other bodywork to white: http://www.advrider.com/forums/showthread.php?t=302800
I just installed the translucent tanks on my 2010 R. I didn't like the all black and the translucent is more practical for me. I do miss the "R" look of the bike but I needed the extra capacity. I'm close by you if you want to come see them on the bike. The translucent is not the same as the new white version.
Here is mine. The orane glow is a set of cheap LEDs mounted to the Fairing/headlight stay. Makes the bike much more visible at night. Without camera flash And a view from the front
Hello Qwik, your fronttire should be turned in the right direction !!! Greetings from Heidenau Country Klaus
Never Noticed it was backwards. Been that way for about 4,000 miles. Think I will leave it alone because it works so well.
