Hey all, I ride a 955 Daytona but am covetous of the Tiger. Hey, if I had one I could be riding now instead of reading threads all day. I've read all about the Vstrom and my brother-in-law has one. U G L Y. I 've rode both and like em both. Would you Tiger owners sound off about the bikes? I'm looking to buy an adv. bike and thru the magic of depreciation am very interested in the Tiger. I like the price point of the wee-strom but just can't see myself on one. Things are better in threes I always say.
Bull, The windscreen works well (it's a Cee Bailey); it keeps wind off my shoulders which is a big improvement over the stocker. However, as you pointed out, it's not very attractive. Fortunately changing it back to the stock when I want pose (as if that's possible on a Tiger). The sides don't attach to anything. They just sort of wedge themselves against the fairing. I was a little scepticle (sp?) at first but after 8000 miles I figure it works well enough. Mudhen, You provide the bike with TKC's and I promise I find some dust. And I'll throw in some mud, no extra charge. Kurt
Nice thread. I like Tiggers. I've ridden a few and it would be high on my list if/when I decide to move to another bike.
Hey Scorch, I don't get you, man. No offence intended, and I appreciate your efforts on this thread, but on another thread you have basically taken a very anti-Tiger stance. Are you some kinda Tiger Troll or something???!!!! Whassup wichu man? Peace/
Very, very nice! While I think the new ones work much better I much prefer the looks of the older model. Good luck with it.
It wasn't a anti tiger stance at all. I am not loyal to any particular brand, and have no problem voicing my opinions. Unfortunatey, people who buy bikes tend to love them as if they are their children. They love them even if they have some peculiar fault. Im just pointing out the faults so people who want to buy tigers, can have the other side of the argument. I wish people pointed out the bad stuff about bikes more often. I never hear it. Its always "oh the ktm 950 adventure is great, you will fun. I love mine". BTW, I think ill get a 02 green tiger when I see one pop up on ebay.
Here's a couple of my old 2001 Tiger. I still miss her :< Solo ride on the pole line. "Dualsport" style BMW ride. Ratpack outing. Rain never stopped us from getting ice cream.
This could be the prettiest thing I've ever seen...(maybe tied with a few airheads...and Toxic Kim, of course): Thanks to Patrick on Triumph-Tiger.com!
