I'm really looking at getting the Jesse cases. I have a TT tail rack that I would like to keep. Does anybody know if this will work with the Jesse cases? I was reading the installation PDF on their website and wasn't sure.

BTW anybody wanna sell their 8" set? I prefer the charcoal ones. :D

I have a similar question; has anyone hung the Jesse side bags and a BMW top case?

I also looked at the Jesse install pdf .... looks like it should be do'able, maybe longer bolts on those two rear ones that the Jesse rack uses to accomodate the lock down plate for the top case.

Before I spring for the Jesse's I would like to know I can keep the top case I already have.

I emailed with that question and Rick said he thinks it should work, but couldn't say for sure. I am not anywhere near my bike now....when I get home next week I will check out the top plate installed and compare with the Jesse install manual, and see what we can see.

I wrote the note here in case there are inmates who have dealt with this particular combo already.

when I bought the bike I didn't know what kind of cases I wanted, but I knew I definitely wanted a top case. So I went with the BMW top case and held off with the panniers until I could do my research. I am happy with the topper and don't want to drop another $500 for a Jesse top case.

You mean the TT rack 'plate'? Yes, it will work great with the Jesse's. Sorry I don't have a better pic but here...

I'm not getting a top box (not right now anyway.) I like having the flexibility to strap stuff down and that's where my lunch box goes. :D But thanks for the heads up. I am prone to overlooking such things.

Somebody else has already done this. Let me see if I can figure out who it was.
I don't remember it being much of a problem and they had a fairly good description.

They do work together. If you are anal retentive, the spacers provided by each respective kit don't make for a "perfect" fit together. That is to say, if you measure the rear spacers provided by the TT rack, the Jesse's spacer + rack mount are shorter. In practice it doesn't mess the mounting up and it's a very minor concern.

Notice in Too Many Toys' picture the rack seems to be leaning back a bit, that's what I'm talking about.

BTW TMT, may I ask the brand of tankbag on your bike and if you are happy with it?
    Thanks!

Its a Famsa #244 with the 800GS specific mount. Got it from Biker World USA. They don't show the 800GS base online but you can request it in the comments section of their online order form.

I like it a lot. The bag zips off the base so its easy to remove. And since the 800 has the fuel under the seat there is no need to remove the base. I electrified it also.

The Famsa 260/9 is dedicated to F800GS and includes tank panniers as well.

I use it and am very pleased how well made and sturdy it is.
