Just picked up a complete, running '76 Honda TL250. Still on the original front tire, seat needs recovering and muffler needs work, rear brakes good fronts not so good. Looks a little rough, but I can't complain for the price I got it for. Starts first kick and has lots of power gonna be fun. Oh and it comes with another complete motor to boot.

Put a wanted ad on the internet and got an email from a guy in town who's dad had it and wanted it gone.

What's a decent brand of trials tire?

Looks like a great event for a good cause. It's on my to do list for next year.

As i can just about move my knee again i have started to get the SWM ready for winter hibernation... this includes fitting a tubeless rear rim. I hate tubes, and after many many years of riding modern bikes and being able to slam the back wheel into things i can't break the habit and tubes aren't lasting long!!
I am lucky enough to have a free supply of tubeless Michelin X-Lights so a 36 hole tubeless rim from an Aprilia Climber was obtained and is now being laced on.

Once the knee is back up to strength and the worst of the winter is over i will still have a bike to play on :)

BTW. if you haven't tried yet, the tubless X-Lights holds on the standard Acront rims pretty well, (with an additional tube), even in very rocky terrain and low air pressure, (the pic shows the "autobahn" part during the trip).

What do you mean with an additional tube? Do you wrap another tube around the other? So far I have not been able to keep a tubeless type tire beaded all the way around the akron rim on my Bultaco.

The innertube, (in German: Schlauch), that you have to use for tube tires.

So I use the tubeless tire with a tube. The inner tube holds the tublesstire very good in place even with low air pressure. You still loose a lot of weight and gain flexibility compared to a standard tube tire (with tube).

I have tried two different michelin tubeless tires with tubes on the Bultaco and I could not get either to stay up on the bead all the way around the rim once I drop the pressure down. Is there a trick I'm missing?

Did you clean the rim spotlessly? I use a wire brush followed by rubber cleaner (the stuff you to prep a tire carcass for a patch),
