    I see no issue.

    I call bullshit.

    Dont we have enough laws?

I am happy that confusion reigns. I currently wear a AUD $65 new flip up helmet bought in the philipines. No cop is going to pull me over because of my helmet. The lack of uniform regs will assist my cause of wearing the helmet I want to wear particularly if travelling in a different jurisdiction.

    Regulate something else.

Are riders really being fined in "other" states under these discrepancies?

Wait a moment and I'm sure someone will have known someone who new a bloke who heard about a guy got busted for having his helmet on wrong way round and the sticker was still legible.

Not busted as such, but my son had to show the helmet with sticker before he was allowed to do his pre-learner course and will again for his pre-provisional. The whole class were told straight up; no standards sticker, no course, no refund. Compliant helmets were available for those that didn't have them to loan.

Not by plod, but at a track/training day. I'd just bought a new helmet and decided to remove all the stickers. That standards one is a bitch, the top half comes off easy enough, exposing 'void void void' stuck pretty damn well. :eek1 (Apparently the ambos rip the top half off if they attend a crash.) They queried the lack of sticker so I told them what I'd done; they said because the helmet looked brand new and was unmarked, they'd give me an exemption. And suggested I don't do it again... no shit, Sherlock!

Roading is provided per-State, innit? So there's a shitload more regs than just helmets that need to be brought in to line.

I'd be happier knowing they met all the latest standards.

I just don't see any point to pay extra 50% for the same helmet just because it has Oz sticker. Any Arai or Shoe I helmets cost in states as much as RJay crap :(

That's a fair criticism, but I don't think it has as much to do with the local standards as it does the regular "Australia Tax" we pay on everything.

There's been a long running campaign to get all the helmet standards and regulations into line around the country but each state just HAS to have it's own versions and try to one-up the others.

I wear RJay's crap. It's blue, and open face, and it has a really cool sunglass thingy built in.
    What sticker? :D
