Here are a TDM i had a couple of years ago, pretty nice bike for touring, -03 model sold brand new in -05, i bought it in the spring of -07with 3400 km on the speedo and put another 6000 km on it before i sold it the same year, was just not my kind of motocycle.

Nice engine but i think i should have some moore tork in the low end. Changeing/shifting gear, up and down all the time, isnĀ“t what i want. No tork at all under 5000 rpm. The bike handles really well and the brkes from the early R1 does it job very well.

If Yamaha just would to build that Super tenere, this engine rebulit with bettter low end tork, tubular steelframe, 18" rear, 21" in front, 180 kg and so on... ......yummie:deal My god what at sweet ride it could be, come on Yamaha. GoGoGo!

No but I'd really like to know how it turned out.

I just saw a thread on the Carpe site about someone snapping the lower shock mounts off their bike. I know of another one in Oz that the same thing has happened. But the bike was ridden very hard off road. Makes me wonder if that's the weak spot in turning a TDM into a full off roader.

but the finish was'nt very promising that i re-do its original state...maybe when i can do with a stainless steel product...might do it again...

Best bike I ever owned ,don't know why I never replaced it after I crashed it. I've got a 990SM now.

    G'day,
here I am in New South Wales' main mountain range (hills to some) The Great Dividing Range. Specifically, I'm descending eastbound along the Oxley Highway and have just left the highest legal speed zone (just 110kph), ten minutes to the west of me.
Oh dear, 45km of those bothersome bends... The things we Aussies have to endure!
