Did you get the LEDs / LED holders online? Tell us a bit about how you did it -- the wiring, the LED holders (what kind), etc.
First Airhead for me ... just got it a couple of months ago ... the more I ride it ... the more I like it ! Leftee
The leds are individual leds you find in cheap stereo equipment. Availabe at Radio Shack. The white female plug used in the G/S dashboard was used as a base for all the wires, basically just stuck the wire in there and then taped shut. For the generator light, I used a real gen light bulb to get the right resistance right for the charging circuit.
The bike I learned to ride on... the bike I sold two months ago.. 1987 R80 with Carillo rods and lightweight wristpins... fast and smooth.
My favorite paint job of the S. I got the 100S after totalling my GS in May. I was not a big fan of the yellow when I first saw it but it's growing on me. It'll get the black/silver smoke treatment in a couple years though.
geeeez! a nice bumblebeemer (what mine will grow up to be) --- and a 950 adventure! can I be your friend?
Had I posted all the pictures on my site i would have need 500 MB.... but i will show you my bike. Before And after All parts of the restoration done by the owner, changing 400 parts and finally the home sprayed Silver Smoke.
My new beast, rescued from a garage in MD. I'm not really into the whole military look, but it seemed like a decent deal. The rack is not attached in this pic, just sitting there (ie not quite as pathetic as it looks...) http://home.comcast.net/~tjachp/DSCF0019.JPG gotta love that high front fender mounted low , and the white tank that was not-quite-completely painted black primer. Done so far: * replaced the tank with a proper BB tank * re-install oem handlebars * properly mount that front fender * lose the ammo boxes to do... the list begins here - * buy a new proper bb seat... offers welcome! * install some tkc80s * progressive springs * round valve covers * acerbis handgards * apply some mud! cheers -
Very nice Paragon. What year is that R80? Looks alot like my R65. Is that a rebuild or is it extremely good condition? MarkF
Thanks Oilhed April 1985 - mono - the one were the inners of the forks changed slightly Original condition - has just not deteriorated at all - 30,000 miles - but been in France for 15 years - I ride it for about 1500 miles every summer, (I live in the UK) â always kept inside Only ever been cleaned with plain water, (after every ride) - maybe the Bike has been "nursed". oil changed, (Mobil 1 â for the last 20 years) - every two years and filter every three - gearbox, rear wheel drive and swing arm oils changed every two year as has the fork oil and brake fluid. Tank off once to clean petrol filters - all other stuff checked/adjusted every two years. Never lubed the spines, (but must get around to that), I just did not want to break the gearbox from the trans Fork oil leak, (at the top), under the nut - 3 years ago - now cured with a big spanner and a lot of effort. Still got original rocker cover gaskets - only changes have been tyres and batteries. even the mufflers and collector box are original No problems or noises Never been serviced or to a BMW Dealer Always run great - rides like a dream in the French sun and on there less crowded roads Screen is BMW as are engine bars - motor was always unleaded - signified by a small green spot on the underside of the jugs always felt very privileged to have it Cheers
