Hi Everyone, A friend of mine has a 2013 Kymco Super 8 150. The maintenance schedule says check the valves at 200 miles and 1850 miles. When she tried to have them do the 200 mile valve inspection, they told her she didn't need it checked. I believe they told her to have it done at 600 miles. When she went to have it done at 600 miles they told her it doesn't need to be checked. :huh The scooter runs extremely well, so no problems there. What do you think? Maybe the dealer has experience with this motor, and knows it isn't necessary? Or maybe they listened to it running and could tell it was fine? I am assuming because it is a single cylinder the scooter will run very badly before it has a chance to burn valves.
I have an 09 Super 8. My owners manual lists the first valve adjustment at 2500 miles and every 2500 after that. When I checked them at 2500, both valves were in spec. At 5000 and 7500 they needed adjustment. I'm not sure why the later models require the valves done at 200 and 600. It seems rather extreme to me.
