.......... it's alive ................ drove it today even though the roads are snotty. fired right up, everything works except the blinkers cycle too fast.
I had to use an electronic flasher because the bulbs I installed would'nt trigger the oem flasher. it worked on the bench but apparently the higher voltage when the bike is running is freaking out the flasher. it works perfect with the engine off
You need to install a resistor inline or if you can get a flasher for led lights they trigger with very little resistance. A light bulb is a resistor.
I used one of these turn signal load equalizers and it did the job. I was trying different lights (bulb and LED) and it worked for both. Not sure if it applies for what you need though. http://www.badlandsmotorcycleproducts.com/2008/Products/BETCSM.htm
Beez will not use anything LED....come on. LED Is that the "new" steam punk LED lighting? Resistors have been around for a very long time, a soldered in resistor should be fine.
Very cool project. You have combined engineering and artistic talents that few others have. Well done.
Excellent build sir! This thread was cross posted to Nighthawk-Forums and the members there are also fans of your creation.
Watched this build from the start and love the work. One thing that surprised me was that you did not "work" the front forks and brakes. Looks a little out of place. Even painted black would make it blend into the rest of the bike. Not meaning to disrespect your work: it is fantastic.
YEAH, what he said! TOO DAMN COOL!! I love it, the copper and brass, the leather, the whole damn nine yards! CONGRATULATIONS on a job far past well done! I bet it was a bit if a PITA finding some parts, always liked them, kind of odd, in a good way though. Cooler than penguin shit!
