OK, I have a question for all the F650gs owners out there...

Would you be interested in purchasing a "CUSTOM" wheel?

I have been talking to a custom hub manufacturer (phil wood) and the hubs will be machined out of 7075 or 6000 series aluminum, anodized or polished and a choice of 36 (stock in f650gs) or 40 spoke. Phil will be providing the hub. The Rims (akron brand) will also be your choise of color and size (21,19,18,17). SS spokes and the wheels will be built by a motorcycle wheel smith.

I am SURE that the price for this wheel (with your choice of color) will be significantly less than the price of the wheels in Touratech-usa.com.
And the wheels will be made in the USA.
I am (more than likely) going to have a set made.

How many more of you would be interested???

Wow, Phil Wood. I remember when he made wheelchair hubs and was looking to get into the bicycle hub business. Had a couple of sets of wheels with his hubs on my road race bike. His hubs were super strong and super light. I'm sure his motorcycle stuff will be top notch!

Not interested in a set, just wanted to give my endorsement for a great guy who makes quality product!

Hmmm... interested if the price is right.

I too have a set of bicycle wheels with Phil Wood hubs. Great stuff!

    Still working out the price.
I am curios to know how many people are interested so I can do a more accurate cost. The more hubs we produce the cheaper the price.
Once we get production started I am sure we could do other models as well.

I think that if you priced a set of 17" for a supermoto setup, you'd have quite a few people interested.

If by chance it also matched the hubs used on the G650 X-challenge/X-moto/X-country you would sell a lot more!

It sounds like you are looking for a FRONT wheel...not sure if you are also looking for a REAR wheel?

I'm in need of a new rear hub for the GS, with 36 spoke holes. Curious about Phil's interest in building a rear hub to match the OE SHOWA cush-drive sprocket carrier and how much he wants for it.

I am interested in wheels for a "09" F650GS Ftwin. The front hub is the same as the F650GS single. But the rear is much different.

This is intriguing as it would allow me to have 2 sets of wheels/tires (street / dirt). Keep us posted.
