I've had maybe 30 bikes in my life and currently have a KLR650 and (oldie) KLR250. Had Beemers, sportbikes, standards, dirt bikes, and so on. The last couple of years I've had a real Jones for a cool scooter (which I've never owned) and I've finally succumbed. Vespa is my idea of what a scooter should be. This GTS 300 is a very nice machine!

I agree- great photos of your new 'lady'. Had a lot of bikes also (since 1969). Now feeling the bliss of being 'scooter trash' :clap:clap:clap

Ah, timeless Italian sculpture. That thing of beauty has the same basic lines that were on the well-used Vespa that I got back in 1964, and the design is as beautiful today as it was then. Yours looks much better, though! Yours is so smoothly finished that it looks like glass. I'm thinking that the 300cc range is possibly the best compromise there is for good manners/ability on the highway and still be fun in the city environment.
Have loads of fun riding that baby. :ricky

BEAUTIFUL Vespa! I love the look of modern Vespas, and that shiny red just tops it off!

I'm sorry to tell you this may not be your only scooter! These damn little things are seriously addicting!

I bought my Elite 150 about 1-2 years ago. I really am a Cruiser guy, having had Harleys and a Honda Shadow 700. I said I don't need another scooter! And had no plans of getting another. Well now a guy just gave me an Elite 80, and not I want another one! Maybe a Burgman 650! And I'd like an Elite 250 just for screwing around on! Man once you got one they take you over!

While I still really enjoy my Cruisers, there is truly nothing that competes with a scooter sometimes, especially around town. I LOVE the smooth automatic CVT, that smooth quiet engine, the super lightweight that I can fly around corners with, scooters just rock!

    But nice scooter! Enjoy it!

Been riding for 2 wheel's for 44 years, how old do you have to be to get your first scooter?Must admit I've been looking at some but at 6'7" it hard enough to find bikes to fit(bad knees and hips don't Help).Met a guy with a Yamaha majestic a few years at a SSFS meeting had 86,000 and still going he loved it had a trailer on the back too.Friends made fun of my KLR(don't care)can't wait till they see me on a scooter.Haven't had my first fat chick either they wont see that. Thanks future scooter owner.

Yeah, that was my thoughts as well. The big scoots just don't press my buttons and the small ones are a bit too anemic.
    250-300cc delivers the Goldilocks effect.

Of course Vespa has the style and the pedigree as well. I've been very busy with work but have managed a few hundred miles on it so far. I'm impressed by the performance generally. Good acceleration and brakes, quite fun in the twisties!

    Howdy,

Lovely Vespa you've got there. I'm going to take a wild guess and say that landscape photography is an interest of yours..:)

I checked out the photos. You have a great eye and you're fantastic at composing the shots. I'd really love to visit those places you've photographed, but having seen the pictures, I kind of feel like I've been there.
Now get on that new scooter and go take some more!

Ya know, have the vespa as your first scoot, is kinda cheating. It's like saying Pam Anderson is your first date. She already has skills. :rofl Any man would feel like more of a man with Pam Anderson as their first. You should start with an ugly girl first and work your way up to the vespa :lol3
