A short (3 hour approximate) section was added to the route in western Quebec. Some fun double track trails with a hand drawn ferry near the middle of the section.

One last short section in Ontario for me to go and redop the gps file for as it proved wrong by people pre riding...winter is not far away in these parts..sadly.

The writeups are taking a bit longer than expected but are being worked on as fast as time permits :nod

I expect by the end of the year that the complete route will be available for download and the route descriptions will be written up and available for viewing.

    Cheers

Without a doubt, it'll be one of the seven wonders of the world!
    Fantastic, well worth waiting for!

Thats great to hear I am so working on this. My friend is talking about the possibility that him and his wife are driving across Canada. I was thinking that maybe i could get them to do a few day rides back and forth the country maybe:freaky.

    Fantastic , great job gentlemen.
Now I know where I'll be riding next Summer.

Any long tech sections that a KTM 990A ridden by a
experienced off road rider can't get through ?

I'd like to ride my 690 but it's a long ride to Eastern Canada from Idaho.

    Max

I'd say a well sorted 990 would be a good match for the route :thumb

Beers on me when you make it to Ottawa :freaky

My hat's off to all of you guys'n'gals who put in such a monumental effort to get this thing from concept through to completion. Wow. Just wow. I came across this thread courtesy of CMGOnline and have read all 161 pages of it. (That was kind of an epic journey in itself.) I've always been a sportbike kinda guy, but this thread has seriously got me hankering to try the TCAT or at least sections of it. F800GS, anyone? :evil

Epic, guys. Epic. Thanks for a great read and all the planning of what could be the definitive adventure ride.

Thanks for the kudos. Currently transcribing Ross's maps into gps files. Won't be much longer before gps and maps are ready for download :nod

Pecking away at getting the route descriptions posted as well (very time consuming).

Still aiming for the end of the year to have everything finished....on the home stretch now :pynd

I gotta say, the BC section of the TCAT is about the greatest thing I've ever seen. If the photos in this thread do the BC segment even 10% justice to what it's like to see IRL.... Wow.

The BC Mainland route description has been posted. Slowly but surely we are getting there. Once all the route descriptions are complete we'll make the gps files and maps available for download :thumb

Definitely not complaining as it will be a great way to get to AB from here in Vic.

The kudos need to go to Ross, aka Manxman, as he created this section of the TCAT :nod

I, like you, can't wait to ride it :pynd

Oh man, I can't WAIT for the GPS files! I checked the site and I see you only have a few up so far. Especially looking forward to a dirt/gravel route across the plaines, might make crossing them a bit more enjoyable!

    Any chance you're taking donations?

I can say that between the Manitoba/Ontario border and Radium BC (through the prairies) an experienced off-roader would have no trouble working the 990 through everything - technical sections and all. A couple of tricky spots, but I have no doubt you could get through them.

I had an absolute blast putting together this section of the route. I am struggling with the drudgery of writing the descriptions, but I'll get it together yet. Sorry if I'm holding things up, Deadly.

By the way - the hand drawn ferry is an awesome addition to the route! Talk about adventure riding! That's one thing people will remember.
