My buddy and I rode the alpine loop last year. We didn't ride the rougher part of Engineer between Mineral Point and 550 which mapsource doesn't show very well.

Litterally just rode it yesterday. Can provide GPS points but I think you have it covered now. Trail is in great shape.

Attached the final set of tracks I used on my trip (used Katbeanz tracks (primarily) for Alpine Loop).....added a few waypoints at some of the passes (Ophir/Imogene/Cinammon).......didn't ride the 03 C Alpine Option (Engineer Pass) or tracks 08-13 since I had to cut my trip a bit short....

Awesome report Crawdaddy, I'm glad you put those tracks to good use. Your pictures are fantastic and really capture how special those places are.
You just missed riding those passes with a couple hundred of us freaks by two weeks at West Fest 08. The west side of Engineer was smoother than I've ever seen.
It's pretty neat you found the old truck.

Welp, I was able to enjoy the best of both worlds......EMPTY/DUST FREE trails........yet I was still able to feel the West Fest presence on top of Imogene Pass.....someone who participated in West Fest 08 left a "ADVRIDER was here" sticker up on top
