Heres a few pictures of one of my scoots. It's a 150cc 1986 honda elite deluxe cutdown.

Why did you chop it up? Did you lose your Devo helmet so no longer matched?

Actually I like the style, for me looks better than the stock plastics. Good idea.

Originally there was a crack in the front lower plastic so rather then replace it I just took it off. I ended up loving the exposed radiator look so much I decided to take more of the front plastic off. Then one day the roads were icy and a not so talented rider on a ducati streetfighter slid out and hit me on the left side and cracked the side plastic so after a day of hanging out with my friend and his vespa cut down i took out my hack saw and went to work.

He hit me at about 40mph. We both got up free of injury besides a couple scratches. His bike refused to start mine started no problem. I thought it was pretty ironic.

Those Elites were very sturdy and reliable machines, and they are just as much fun today as they were 35 years ago (yikes!). Sort of ugly, but after 5 minutes riding one around town you don't care and after 15 minutes you're kind of proud to be on it. With a little maintenance they last forever.
