The best 400 bucks I ever spent, added the chrome front fender. 10 years later still can't part with her, just a good old bike.

I had two, an 1100, and an 1150. They felt nice and stable, but also really long.

Although I don't have a GS at present, I hold a fondness for these bikes, me and my best friend got a pair of 550's when we graduated college and had a few adventures on them.

This is my GS850G, I bought it a year ago and have spent most of that time restoring one piece at a time. Just finishing up a top overhaul on the engine then it's going to be logging lots-o-miles this Spring and Summer. I have a R1100RT that I love and it performs flawlessly but the "GS" has character and I enjoy spending time on it.

I started riding last year. This is my first bike - 2006 Suzuki GS500F. I bought it with about 1700 miles on it; it has almost 5500 now. Here's a blurry picture from sometime last summer.

I'm looking to upgrade now, probably to a cruiser. We'll keep this one around for around town riding and for the kids to use when they visit.

I picked up this GSX750 for 800 bucks 2 weeks before my friend and I were planning a serious ride into Canada. It never skipped a beat, and since then I've been doing my best to keep it running and looking good. I recently removed all the shitty silver spray paint the PO used on the cases and painted the body and tank.

On the trip, in touring mode. I built custom panniers for it.

And now, after some cosmetic and mechanical attention. Note the leaking head gasket!:evil

I was tempted to go look at that thing. I didn't know it ran, did you get them down from the $3000 price?

    interesting story:
the bike was advertised about a month ago.didn't sell and the owner traded it to the guy i bought it from for a debt owed. the new owner has a kawasaki zx11 turbo and campaigns a gs1100 drag bike. he got the bike running and re-listed it on cl. i talked to him for about a half an hour and the guy seemed to know what he was talking about, or at least had the right answers. he wasn't interested in keeping the bike, just re-couping the money he was out of. i bought it on the blind, but just a cool period piece i couldn't pass up. will have it in the next few days....

Wow... that's awesome. I've thought about doing that with my 550E. Details on the seat and fork...

Also, what tires are those and did you have to modify the front fender??
