Can you down load topos into a blank Garmin memory card or do you have to buy the Garmin preinstalled map on their memory card? Thanks
They download just fine. Buy a copy of Topo 2008 and choose the map areas you need and you're all set.

You could put maps on blank memory card without any problem. I use a blank memory card & Morocco topo maps just with a "blank" 276c (no city navigator or others).
Actually,any time you load maps onto Garmin units,it erases the old mapset,so you are loading to a blank card anyway. This of course does not apply to those Garmin units with preinstalled maps. JR356
