I have always liked to ride out in the 'wide open spaces'. A long strech of empty highway is quite nice, thank you. Let's see some of your pictures from the open road. Somewhere in Arizona Highway 95, north of Blythe, CA Death Valley, CA
Man, I love the High Plains, it's just gorgeous country with wide-open spaces. But DAMN the roads suck!!! My son attends college in Grand Forks, NoDak so last May I rode out to see him. This is Highway 85 just north of Belle Fourche, SoDak: The Black Hills are just chock full of fantastic twisties, but once you head north it's like this for literally 300 miles. I hit Highway 2 in NoDak and it's like this for another 350 miles to Grand Forks. After visiting my son I turned around and rode back the same way. Over 1,300 miles and literally only two turns; it wore the center out of my rear tire so badly that the belts were showing and I still had probably 85% left on the edges! Look how square that thing is! The kind folks at Sturgis BMW helped me deal with this little surprise: They were very busy hosting an open house but dropped everything to get a new tire on for me and get me back on the road. Outstanding service! Doug
I can play this one. This is Mexico, long but not lonely: One of these: and somewhere in Nevada: There have been many that I didn't document. Nate
