I am trying to find a good, easy to use, FREE, website for route planning. I am hoping to find one with current information where I can just click on a road on the map to set a waypoint. I would like to then be able to combine waypoints into a route, with the ability to add/ edit waypoints. Being able to exercise options for shortest/ fastest/ minimal highway would be huge also. BTW I don't own a gps, so an option to be able to print maps with routes would be ideal as well. TIA for any suggestions.

Use the Google. Google maps are neat and fairly easy to set up and print out.

I've been messing with google maps for a week or two (in this application). Route planning, and connecting waypoints does not seem to be it's forte'. Or maybe I'm just missing something :dunno . I guess the part I'm struggling with is not being able to just click specific points on a map to add as "via" points. It seems it wants me to enter the total exact address for each point. I've built a couple of maps and saved them to my google profile, but I cant seem to include certain points/ roads I've put pushpins on into a route easily.

I've used google, mapquest and others, but I prefer AAA triptik. You can configure shortest route or time and put in different legs of the trip.

Right click anywhere you want on the map. "Add a destination."

One thing it doesn't do is optimize your route... You can't have it (that I know) put your stops in the most efficient order, though in most cases it's pretty easy to do this visually.

I've never used it myself, but have heard good things about the online Harley route planner.

Wow! At first I thought this post might be sarcasm at its finest :lol3 . But it looks to be almost ideally what I was hoping to find. Thanks for sharing :thumb .
