I've been thinking of doing the panhandle and New Mexico sometime in April, would be good to have company.

Anyone have a good map of the OK TAT? I have a couple of weeks and may try to hit part of it.

I'm pretty sure that Joe, Travis and Doc used their TAT map to patch tires.

I just got back from CO and rode some of the OK TAT. The west and east ends are pretty....the plains of OK...not so much. If I had a cyanide pill with me I probably would have taken it. :lol3

Hi guys. Hope you don't mind me digging up an old thread. I'm toying with putting together a 200-400 mile off pavement bicycle ride across part of the state and it just kind of seems like the TAT might be the natural place to start. Based on your experience, what sections would best lend themselves to this? We would be camping. Lots of sand would suck but otherwise, road condition not particularly important. Arkansas might be another option. Thanks in advance for the feedback.

From the Arkansas border to Newkirk or I-35 will give you about 200 miles. This is the best part of Oklahoma TAT, no or very little sand, only muddy if it rains :D
You should be able to find campsites along a lot of that.

Once you get west of I-35 the TAT is mostly straight, flat, well graded dirt roads.
