I've fixed the issue with the script not working in Firefox 5. Please upgrade your scripts to version 1.4.

    To install the update...
    1. Go to Tools -> Greasemonkey -> Manage User Scripts...
    2. Locate "ADV Ride Report De-crufter" in the list and click Remove.
    3. Then click here to install the new version.

You are awesome! Thank you for fixing it. It's amazing how much I missed it when it didn't work, I almost stopped reading some reports waiting patiently for the fix. And to do it while getting ready for your own trip, thanks a bunch.

Chrome is currently not supported. Some have tried to make it work. I do not intend to offer support for Chrome at this time.

    I like it.
You probably didn't even see this because you've got your box checked.
    Carry on.

Just a heads up... this script is super broken if you use the new "ADVrider 2.0" forum theme.

I don't know if this "2.0" theme is the final product or still being worked on, and it's a pain to code against a moving target. I also have 4 days until I leave for the OBDR and a shitton of work yet to do... so please don't be disappointed if I don't fix this until after mid-July.

    Thanks for your patience.

Mmmm....ADVrider 2.0 skin is so shiny! Much nicer then the rest (save for cRAsH). I can wait...

I am looking for folks to test a new version of this script. Send me a PM with your email address if you're willing to help.

The new version should work with ADVrider 2.0 as well as crash and its variants, so testers are wanted regardless of your personal preference.

    Thanks!

I'm pleased to announce that version 2.0 of the De-crufter for Firefox is ready for your enjoyment. This version adds compatibility with the new "ADVrider 2.0" style, but if you're a fan of cRAsH, don't worry, it'll work in that too.

Thanks to klrmtn, RAGBrian, and word1 for helping me with testing.

    To install the update...
    1. Go to Tools -> Greasemonkey -> Manage User Scripts...
    2. Locate "ADV Ride Report De-crufter" in the list and click Remove.
    3. Then click here to install the new version.

hmmn. not working for me. Firefox 5.0/Windows 7 64bit

I don't see the checkbox. Does it clash with NoScript?

    I have no idea.

When in doubt, uninstall the script and re-install it again.

Tried that. Restarted firefox between removing and reinstalling. No diff. I'll look at it more when i get back from the TAT.

I went thru a mini-version of this (meaning: where's the checkbox) while testing.
I can say Firefox 6 with Windows 7 (32bit) and NoScript does work.
But my first attempt did not work, even though I'm very careful.
Second attempt included 'uninstall the script' then 'restart Firefox' and finally 'reinstall script'.
    This did work.

I had used tbolt's excellent De-crufter on Firefox for quite a while back before I discovered Google Chrome. For those of you who are now using Chrome (like myself), I have an extension with similar functionality. Like the De-crufter, once you visit the first page of a thread, the OP will be remembered (even if you close the browser and open it again later, if you don't clear your browsing data). Posts that you post to a thread won't be hidden with the clutter if you're logged in. In addition, the clutter show/hide setting is saved on a per-thread basis.

Instead of adding the checkbox at the top, I added an entry in the Thread Tools menu as shown below.

(this works with all of the available themes here, including ADVrider 2.0)

For the interested, the source code is viewable here. Feel free to make your own version if you'd like—with a few tweaks, it should work reasonably well on almost any vBulletin-powered site.

Use this other thread for any questions or issues with the Chrome extension; I don't want to unnecessarily cruft up tbolt's thread here.

    Strong work!

If you haven't already, you'll want to create a separate thread for your script so folks can ask questions and so you can have a place to post update announcements.
