Missed the last couple of years - looking forward to this year!

Definitely looking forward to going again Sethro303, can't wait to see who all is going. Probably should start thinking about what were going to sleep in. Heard your thinking about running the dual sport ride Saturday, not the poker run.

I am bringing my trailer. Talked to the other guys we camped with last year and they are already planning to save us a spot......so problem solved.

As far as which rides, I think the dual sport would be fun and maybe we could do one lap of the poker run and pick up the dual sport ride....I'm not sure what time the DS ride starts.

It would be nice if a fellow ADVrider could give us the down low on past years how it all goes down. If memory serves me the poker run and the dual sport run start at the same time. Plus you have to show your card to get into the poker run course.

If you sign up for the dual sport "A" loop, you get access to the poker run and dual sport loops. The poker run is always rocky, whooped out, and crowded. The Dual Sport loop is always easier riding but very fun and the highlight of the Saturday event (in my opinion).

I signed up for the DS run, but ended up doing two loops on the poker run instead. The first was interrupted by a flat tire, the second by fatigue, but found a short cut to the brewery! I think I'll stick to the DS route this year, those whoops are getting big! :eek1

If anyone is interested in the poker run but is worried about crowds, try waiting a while before you head out. Let the starting wave go, give it some time, then head out and its smooth sailing.

Had some buddies turn me on to this strategy a few years ago and its the way to go. I was all amped up to head out and they were like "Relax Francis".

They were right, made for an awesome trail ride.

How many miles of slab on the dual sport route?

Not many, it is aimed at 450s. My friend rode it on his 200exc but wouldn't do it again on that bike.

The longest bit of pavement is from Odessa to the race camping if I remember correctly.

I am moving to Seattle in the next few months and I am hoping to do this. I was thinking about doing the DS on the 800GS and the race on the 500 EXC. Is that doable or dumb or somewhere in between. Do they close registration early or can you sign up day of?

And it appears camping is the only option. Do they have "facilities" available and food/drink?

Wizze, I think your ride plan is doable, you can sign up for the poker runs and race the day of.

There will be porta-poties and vendors selling food/drink on sight

I wanna go this year. Only heard about it last year. Won't race but I wanna do one of the other rides

If you're into off road riding its a NW must do IMO. Crazy scene. Great riding. Get to see some riding buddies that you only see once a year. Little money. Big fun.

I was very close to pulling the trigger on a 950 SE this week so I could do just this. Then I went riding this weekend and my back communicated to me that racing again is a bad idea.
So I think last year was my last race out there, but will probably ride the 1200 on the dual sport course again. My favorite part was Todd's MX track.
